The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
Id/Osterholt, S/Brace that the minutes be approlred as
printed. Carried.
Holte injury Dave Osterholt reported that Bill Holte has talked with
the Village Attorney re: Holte's sons injury.

'Budget Dave Osterholt reported that the Park and Recreation budget
has been included in the Village's tentative budget yet to
be approved.
Beach signs rho Secretary was instructed to ask the Village Attorney for
the proper legal wording for signs to advise the public that
there was to be no boat launching at Riley beach, that there
was no lifeguard in attendance and swimming was at theirown risk.
The garage crew can have these painted for posting next spring.
A "Beach Closed" sign should be posted for off-season use.
Kings Forest land The Secretary was asked to inquire if Brauer and Associates
had done a study of this land for the School Board, and if so,
if copies were available for the Park and Recreation Commission.
hummer Rec. Report Bill Holte will be asked if he can make his report on the
past Summer Recreation program on October 9.
Recreation Director The idea of cooperation between the Park and School Boards
in the hiring; of a Recreation Director was discussed. Harry
Pieha, the School Board representative on the Park Board, will
be asked to be the liason between the two groups, looking for-
ward to the year 1969,

From: Eden Prairie Park and Recreation Commission
The following actions were taken at the August 14 meeting of the
Park and Recreation Commission:
M/Brace, S/Picha that the Park and Recreation Commission
recommend to the Council that the studies of Riles► Beach and
the Kutcher property on Birch Island Lake recommended earlier
this summer, not be made now but included in the comprehensive plan.
Carried.
M/Brace, S/Osterholt that the Park and Recreation Commission sutmit
a budget of $10,200 to the Council for its consideration as follows:
4 Kutcher property payment $4.200
Bond issue broohure and promotion 1.500
Expanded recreation program 3,500
Maintenance, mowing, beach improvement 1,000 Carried.
M/Picha, S/Brace that Park and Recreation meetings be held the
second Monday of each month at 8 p.m. in the Village Hall. Carried.
Las Wise was elected Chairman, Chuck Brace. Vice Chairman of the
Park and Recreation Commission.
