The owner of the land declined to sell. i Minutes The Board reconvened at the Villge Hall where the meeting was called to order by the Chairman. M/ Anderson, S/Picha that the May 2 minutes be corrected to read that Ken Anderson abstained from voting on the motion in which the Park and Recreation Commssion reaffirmed its support of the Hennepin County Park Reserve District program and their proposed a acquisition in Eden Prairie. Carried. There being no further w corrections, the minutes stood approved as read.. i Methodist Church Harry Picha said the land is naturally gravelly and it was request to level his opinion that it would need a cover of top soil on about village land l; acres. Since we have heard no word from the Council on f the Board's request to have an opinion from the Engineer, Don Nygaard said he would follow up on the matter. Summer Recreation 2,000 schedules are to be distributed throughout Eden Prairie ! C_ Schedules as follows: 1500 to homes by school children via Bill Holte; Board members will leave others to be available at the Pres- byterian, Lutheran, Methodist, Eden Praire and Bush Lake Baptist churches, the Y, Kramers, Glenview Dairy, Brown's Store, Morants, Skelly station and all places listed on the schedule. Arrangements with Harry Picha was to check with the School Board on the use of School the school and equipment, bus and insurance, the same as for last summerts recreation program. s Terms of Park Board The Secretary read a communication from Village Clerk James Members Brown, stating the length of terms of the appointed members. According to it, Howard Merrimants term expires Jan. t67, F. Blacklock Jan. 168, Nygaard Jan. 169. Letter from Mr. Don Nygaard read a letter from Mr. Kodet inqui3ing about the L. B. Kodet possibility of acquiring g playground land near his neighborhood. The Secretary was instructed to write Mr. Kodet that the Board would meet with him and others at the site described in his letter on July 11 at 8:00 p.m. Dark budget for 1967 was discussed. 4 M/Merriman, S/Anderson that the meeting be adjourned. Rev. Alden Kieski of the Methodist Church appeared at our meeting to inquire about this land, saying that nearby residents would very likely be interested in helping to improve the land for a �. play area if the basic grading were done. By "grading" we do not imply bringing all the land up to one level, but smoothing the surface and taking out the rough spot& From Rev. Kieskils report, it is too rough to be used for games.
