(postponed from March 1 because of the weather) Eden Prairie Village Hall Present: Don Nygaard, Russell Piarsh, Howard Merriman, Frances Blacklock I Guest: John Schultz, University of Minnesota NAlarsh, S Alerriman that the minutes of the last meeting as printed be approved. Carried. Recreation John Schultz, who, with his graduate clAds at the University, prepared Report the "Long Range Park and Recreation Plan" for Eden Prairie, was present U of M to discuss the report. Copies are being sent to the Council and Zoning Commission. Rather than use the Report as something to be followed verbatim, Mr.. Schultz suggested that each Commission member study and criticize the Report and work out variations as he thought would make it more suitable or possible for Eden Prairie. 1he Report should be con- sidered as a basis to work from. The meeting was spent in discussing various aspects of the Report. Of prirw importance is the need .for communicating to residents of Eden Prairie - letting them know our goals, that land donations will be wel- come, etc. Mr. Schultz suggested we talk to the Council to find out ways of getting lake shore land, beaches and land areas that would be desirable. Don Nygaard requested a copy of the Recreational Interest Survey that was made as part of the Eden Prairie study. Mr. Schultz left the negative of the map incorporated in the Plan with Don Nygaard. Mr. Schultz has the stencils of the Report itself. April mtg. The next meeting will be the first Monday in April. The Secretary was instructed to notify lair.
