Carried. Council business The Secretary road from the rainutes of the Village Council regarding the appropriation of money for the Recreation Survey; purchase of the publication "Standards for !Municipal Recreation areas"; and the Council' s request of the County Surveyor for a survey of Riley Lake Beach. There has been no communication regarding an opinion from the Council regarding the Village owned land east of the Nethodist Church. Skating Liability Don Nygaard read the opinion received from Harlan Perbix j regarding liability on village-cleared skating rinks, to the � . effect that the Village would, generally speaking, not be liable for injuries. Since the Village Council has tabled bids on a tractor-sweeper, action on clearing skating rinks was postponed. Watershed District 1'ussell 1�iarsh reported that there is interest in the establishment of a Purgatory Creek Watr-.rshed District. A request for such a District will have to originate with the Councils of Eden Prairie and Minnetonka. 1�11nnetonkals engineer has expressed great need for -the District. The 3oard discussed the matter and. decided to give it further study. Narsh will find out if the Attorney for the Nine Mile Creek Watershed District could attend a future Park meeting, at which time E.P. Council members would be invited. Summer Rt-:creation The Secreaaryy was instructed to write Bill Holte asking for a report of last suimn. ris recreation program and an inventory of village-owned equipmk.,nt, to be ready by the January meeting. Recognition Plaque A design for a Recognition Plaque was submitted by Don Nygaard and approved. It was felt an appropriate time to present it to the Council would be before the Village Hall Open ouse.
