N/Marsh, S7Blacklock that the minutes of the September 15 meeting as printed be approved. Carried. Sterling Field Mr. Harris Mikelson, a resident of the Sterling Field area, Blacktopping represented the Sterling Field Association in requesting the Commissions approval of its plan to blacktop an area at the west end of the field. The Association would pay the cost for a 3" surface over a sand base on an area 36 x 78 feet, guaranteed for one year against breakup. M/idarsh, S/Blacklock that the E.P. Park and Recreation Z Commission approve the paved area as proposed by Mr. Mikelson for the Sterling Field Association. w (The area will also serve as a tennis court, volley ball, basketball and shuffleboard court.) Recreation Survey 17r. John Schultz, teacher of Recreation Surveys at the Uni- versity of Minnesota, and one of his students, Mr. Nick Muley, discussed an inventory survey for Eden Prairie. Present and projected information about Eden Prairie would be gathered i— from many sources by the students. In addition, they would C/3 do what they could to suggest standards, locations for parks U- and playgrounds etc. The only cost to the village would be G transportation costs for the students. (Mr. Schultz strongly c� recommends combining school and park facilities to the benefit of both.) M&erriman, S/131acklock that the Secretary be instructed to request of the Eden Prairie Village Council that the Park and Recreation Commission be allowed to spend approximately $50.00 for a Park and Recreation Survey to be undertaken by the Recreation Surveys class of the University of Minnesota, under the supervision of 1dr. John Schultz, Cook Hall. Carried. it Eden Prairie Park and Recreation Commission Page 2 Meeting, October 14, 1964 Corrections to M/Marsh, S/Merriman that the June 1, 1964 minutes be changed the Minutes to read that the Eden Prairie Park and Recreation Commission members were sworn in by James Brown, Village Clerk. Carried. M/Marsh, S/Merriman that the June 1 minutes be changed to read that Linda Brekke is employed and paid by the SRA, not Eden Prairie. Carried. By-Laws Change in M/Mar , Merriman that Elrticle 1, Section 2 of the Eden By-Laws Prairielbe changed to read "Officers shall be composed of Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary." The sentence,"(Treasurer shall be the Village Council representative.)" shall be deleted. Carried. Election of Marsh nominated Al Bruce as Vice Chairman. IA/Merriman, Vice Chairman S/Marsh that the nominations be closed. Carried. M/marsh, S/Merriman that the imaeting be adjourned.
