PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING 2 2 January, 1968
ITEM 1-5-68 NICK SERIOS
Mr. Serios appeared before the Board requesting permission to split a piece of
property which he owned in Eden Prairie. He stated that he had received permission
to make this split and had filed it with the County in 1963. He was advised that
if he had made the filing that he should produce the information from the County
that the split had definitely been made, at which time a building permit would be
issued to him. If it had not been filed, he would have to proceed in the regular
manner as prescribed in Ordinance #93 to divide the property.
ITEM 1-6-68 PERSONS WITH REQUESTS NOT ON THE AGENDA
Mr. Quentin Wood received from the County, request approvals on the Hennepin
County 62, 61 interchange. This is Shady Oak Road and the Cross Town. Then also
the improvement on State Aid Highway 61 from just north of the Cross Town to State
Aid Highway 169. needed approval.
Motion was made by Warren Shultz, seconded by Henry Hauser to recommend approval of

Road 61 to Highway 169.
The motion carried.
The Clerk brought up the Planning School at Mankato. The various members discussed
this and would make a decision among themselves as who would be attending the classes.
Mr. Don Brauer also stated Mr. Bruce Pladson from his office was attending the
school and the individuals from Eden Prairie's Planning and Zoning Board could work
with Bruce so that only one person would be driving to the school on a particular
session.
Mr. Don Brauer also asked that the Board reconsider referring plats to him but for
planning purposes only, that the engineering work on the plats would all be done
by the village engineer, Mr. Wood, that he should have the plats referred to him
for items of planning so that he can work the plats into the comprehensive plan
that he is working on for the village and also make comments regarding the plats as
far as planning purposes are concerned.
Mr. Wood felt that this would be a very good situation, that working with Mr. Brauer
on these, they would be able to provide the Planning and Zoning Commission with
more detailed information on the preliminary plats. He also felt that they should
be reviewed by the engineer and the planner before they come to the Planning and
Zoning Commission for action.
Motion was made by Odmor Skjelbostad, seconded by Vernon Emerson that the meeting
be adjourned at 10:25 p.m.
The motion carried.
