• The Zoning & Planning Commission met in room 308 in the Eden Prairie
High School on May 5, 1964 at 8 o'clock p. m.
Present were:
A. W. Miller, Chairman Dr. John H. Wright
Anthony Hirt, Acting Clerk David W. Dale
Albert Picha Archie Carter, Engineer
ORDER OF BUSINESS:
The meeting was called to order by Chairman, A. W. Miller. Due to the
absence of Clerk James Brown because of hospitalization, Anthony Hirt acted
as temporary Clerk.
MINUTES
The minutes of the April 7th and 21st meetings were read and approved as
read.
ROSEMOUNT ENGINEERING-TOBIAS PROPERTY
Mr. Robert Lundquist and Mr. Kelly explained the type of building and
type of work performed by Rosemount Engineering.
• Mr. Tieman, an adjoining property owner, spoke of the need for a complete
study before any re-zoning is done.
A motion was made by Anthony Hirt and seconded by Dr. Wright to recommend
to the Village Council the immediate start by the Village Attorney, Village
Engineer and if necessary a planning consultant and begin work at once on a
new restrictive industrial developpent ordinance.
Motion carried.
GRIFFITH-RE-ZONING
Mr. Griffith and Mr. Martinson appeared in regard to re-zoning Mr. Griffith's
property. Mr. Griffith decided to withhold application for industrial zoning
at this time.
HILLCREST COURTS-2ND ADDI_TION
Robert Roderick appeared in regard to the plat in Hillcrest Courts-2nd
Addition. Further study of the plat will be made. This area is zoned POC and
would require re-zoning as currently platted.
YJAINE SARVERS-WOOD DRYING LOT
Mr. Wayne Sarvers appeared in regard to a wood drying yard across from
Northup-King property adjacent to a filling station.
A motion was made by Anthony Hirt and seconded by David Dale to recommend
denial of his request. (He wishes to be put on the Agenda for the May 12th
Council meeting.)

EDEN BROOK CIRCLE-CLIFF HENRY
The preliminary plat for Eden Brook Circle was accepted for study and
turned over to Engineer Carter.
ROGER DAHLIN
Mr. Roger Dahlin requested deviation of 15 feet side yard to 9 feet for
garage on Lot 8, Block 1 in Kutcher's First Addition.
A motion was made by Anthony Hirt and seconded by Albert Picha that the
deviation be granted subjOcttto the Building Inspector verifying minimum 30
feet between proposed garage and adjacent building on adjoining lot.
Motion carried.
BELLHURST-2ND ADDITION-KRAL
Engineer Carter and members of the Zoning & Planning Commission will study
alternate routes for traffic to Highway 101.
MARTIN GRILL - DUMP
A request was made by Martin Grill for a permit to operate a dump.
A motion was made by Anthony Hirt and seconded by Albert Picha to recommend
to the Village Council that the Village Engineer and the Village Attorney draft
two ordinances, one specifically forbidding a dump and the other spelling out
conditions under which a dump may be operated. Through proper-,,, hearings one
or the other thereafter be adopted.
Motion carried.
EARL SMITH-BUILDING PERMIT
A motion was made by Albert Picha and seconded by Dr. Wright that Building
Inspector Bren notify Earl Smith, Route 1, Box 89, Hopkins that as per terms
of the permit issued for a temporary garage, it expires on June 1, 1964 and the
building must be removed. (See Zoning minutes of December 3, 1963•)
Motion carried.
IRV PALMER-TRAILER HOMES
A motion was made by Dr. Wright and seconded by David Dale that a 90 day
permit be granted Mr. Iry Palmer for two trailer homes on property of Big D
Discount Station.
Motion carried.
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn at 12:00 a. m.
