Meeting called to order by the chairman at 8:00 pm. ,
August 7th.I962, at the American Legion Hall, The minutes of the previous
meeting were approved as read.
Hearing opened on presentation of plat, by Mr.Law of
the firm of Law,Wehrman,&Knight Inc. ,community planners.Proposed
plat Leighcroft Addition,Mrs.K.L.Moores,owner. approximately 96 acres
or fourteen lots of about five acres each. Motion by Ralph Nesbitt
that we recommend to the Town Board approval of this preliminary
plat; motion seconded and approved.
Mr. Kelley, realtor, and Mr.Jobnson,of the Johnson Produce
Company,Hopkins, presented a sketch of a warehouse,to be located
near Co.Rd.67, near the sanitarium, for the purpose of processing
and marketing eggs and poultry. Three to four acres involved.
The proposed warehouse will be 403 x 801; motion made by R.J.Nesbitt
and seconded byHenry Schucup recommending approval to build be given
when requested, motion carried.
A request by Mr.McCarthy of McCarthy I-Tell Ddilling Co.
and Bruce McQueen to have approx. seventy acres, if acquired rezoned
from R A & R-C to M-I,property involved, the west a of the northwest
4 of the northwest 1 of section I4,township' II6, range 22, less
easement for highway purposes was heard; motion by A.W.Miller that
we recommend rezoning as above,the property ,if acquired,seconded
R.J.Nesbitt, motioncarried, V1%
After some discussion the road, from #4, in to
Immanuel Lutheran Church, tith their pastor, motion made by
Ralph Nesbitt that the road be checked by the Town engineer,
before recommended approval; seconded by Mr.Wright, motion carried.
Request was heard, from Mesers Woodward,Dufor and Veilie
for rezoning their land, now zoned, R-A, residental-agricultural, to
M-I, light industrial. It was recommended to these land owners,
that they get the consent of adjacent owners, to increase the acreage
which would be involved. when this has been accombbished this
commission would act favorably.
Mr.Donald Kral presented, the*,% roposed I)iat of his
Bellhurst Addition, on #66. Main discussion revolved around the
possibility of straightening the decided curve where proposed
plat is located. No action taken.
Motion made by Ralph Nesbitt, and seconded by Gage
that the Schubert Outdoor Advertising Co. be denied the right to move
the Lakeland Motor Hotel sign 81xI21 , and the Bungalow Motel & Cafe
sign IO1x401 to another location, motion carried.
Motion made by Henry Schucup and seconded by R.Nesbitt
that the Commission recommends to the Town Board that Mr.Zakariasen
be allowed to move a building onto his property on #169, for use as a
