COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Wolfgang Penzel , George Bentley,
Dean Edstrom, Paul Redpath, and George
Tangen
The special meeting of the Eden Prairie City Council was called to order by
Mayor Penzel .
The first matter to be considered was the status of the lawsuit involving tax
increment financing. Bob Ellers, Ellers and Associates, reported on alternatives
for modification of the plan.
Bill McGrann, Dick Graves, Jim Reyer, and Wally Parkins representing the O'Connor
& Hannan law firm made a proposal to the Council regarding modification of the
tax increment financing plan.
MOTION: Tangen moved, seconded by Redpath, to retain the firm of O'Commor
& Hannan for services in the area of tax increment financing.
The meeting was recessed for a meeting of the Housing & Redevelopment Authority.
The Council reconvened its meeting to consider the attributes of the four candi-
dates for City Manager. A lengthy discussion ensued on the merits of each. It
was decided to make the official appointment at the April 7, 1981, Council meeting
to allow time for terms of employment to be reached.
MOTION: Redpath moved, seconded by Tangen, to adjourn the meeting at 10:35 p.m.
Motion carried unanimously.
