City Council - 03/09/1965 - Village Meeting March 9, 1965 Page 1 The Council met in the Village Hall on March 9, 1965 at 8 o'clock P. M. Present were: Donald A. Rogers, Mayor Rolf E. Haugen, Treas. Kenneth E. Andersons Trustee W. Harlan Perbix, Atty. Alvin J. Brea, Trustee Quentin K. Wood, PWA James C. Brown, Clerk ORDER OF BUSINESS: MINUTES It was moved by Kenneth E. Anderson and seconded by Alvin J, Bren to approve minutes of the meeting of February 21tth as published with the fol- lowing correction: Page 3 should read: (Mining Operations) ''after adding Sec. 5.11 Subdivision 1 of Ordinance 8 to S-I District's Ordinance #48". Motion carried. VOUCHERS f It was moved by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to approve vouchers #2162 through #2224 for payment. Yotion carried. MBS. MAICZNE PILKINGTON Mrs. Pilkington presented a plant to the Village of Eden Prairie from the Chanhassen Chamber of Commerce. It was moved by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to accept the plant and request the Clerk to send a letter of thanks. Motion carried. DOG PROBLEM Bill Meyer of Eden View I presented copies of dog ordinances of Hopkins, New Hope, Bloomington, Golden Valley, St. Louis Park and Edina. There was a motion by Alvin Bren and a second by Kenneth Anderson to instruct our attorney to draft a dog ordinance and hold the first reading at the March 24, 1965 meeting. Motion carried. March 9, 1965 Page 2 DICK NOGGLE Mr. Dick Noggle of the Brandin' Iron Restaurant appeared to make an application for a Set-up License. It was moved by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign a Set-up License Application for Richard Noggle for the Brandin' Iron Restaurant. Motion carried. NORTHERN CONrIlACTING COMPANY It was moved by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to author- ize a Special Use Permit for the operation of a Blacktop Plant in M-2 Zone in R. L. S. 1054. Motion carried. MINING OPERATIONS It was moved by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to refer this to the. Zoning Board for recomuended changes in the ordinances. Motion carried. 4 l ANNUAL AUDIT Mr. Mitton of Gronvall & Mitton appeared with the Annual Audit Report. It was recommended that the Clerk keep the blank Receipt D"ks, and the Minutes are to spell out the wages of all as well as the authority to pur- chase. It was moved by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to accept the Annual Audit and authorize its approval. Motion carried. PETTY CASH 9 It was moved by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren that the $$5.00 Petty Cash balance from the Village Garage be added to the $20.00 F Village Hall making a total of $25,00 under the control of Mrs. Se►avall. Motion carried. f DEPUTY TREASURER It was moved by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to appoint Mrs. Loretta Seavall, Richard Bren and Quentin Wood as deputy treasurers for r receipt of money only. It Motion c arried. a PUMP FOR VIIZAGE HALL It was moved by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to authorize the bid of $538.00 for a pump to be included in the bid and contract for the well. Audit Report of Gronvall & Mittons refers to. Motion carried. OPEN HOUSE I� It was moved by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bran to request the Clerk to send "thank you" letters to Mr. Raymond T. Olsen, Eden Prairie O Community Club, Mr, Emmett Stark and his Dixie Land Band, Congressman Clark MacGregor, Rieke & Carroll, Northern States Power ComparW, Red Owl Stores and P. M. Johnson, Inc. Motion carried. NORMAN UNDESTAD It was moved by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to table his request for escrow money until the 24th of March. i Motion carried. TYPEWRITER It was moved by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to authorize Quentin Wood to rent the typewriter now in use in the office. Motion carried. March 9s 1965 Page 4 SPEED ZONES No action was taken on this matter at the present time. DRAINAGE STUDY REPORT Copy is attached. METROPOLITAN SEWER REPORT The report is attached. DRAINAGE STUDY It was moved by James Brown and seconded by Alvin Bren to authorize up to 'v600.00 for water gauges et cetera for a Drainage Study. Motion carried.
