City Council - 02/09/1965 - Village Meeting February 9, 1965 Ihe Council met in the Village Hall on February 9, 1965 at 8 o'clock P. M. Present were: l Donald A. Rogers, Mayor James C. Brown, Clerk Kenneth E. Anderson, Trustee Rolf E. Haugen, Treas. Alvin J. Bren, Trustee W. Harlan Perbix, Atty. Albert L. Bruce, Trustee Quentin K. Wood, Engineer ORDER OF BUSINESS: MI1MTES A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth E. Anderson to approve the minutes of the meetings of January 27 and January 30 as published. Motion carried. VOUCHERS A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth E. Anderson to approve vouchers #2097 through #2154 for payment. Motion carried. PARTITIONS FOR VILLAGE HALL OIF-7ICE The quotation of the Rosemount Engineering Company was recorded and ac- cepted and placed on file. No further action was taken on it. SHAKOPEE FIRE CONTROL A motion was made by Albert. Bruce and seconded by Kenneth E. Anderson to renew the contract with the Shakopee Fire Department subject to Attorney Perbix' approval. Attorney Perbix approved the contract. Motion carried. ORLAN NARR A motion was made by Albert Bruce to table the Special Use Permit for further study. ASSESSOR SCHOOL It was moved by Kenneth E. Anderson and seconded by Albert Bruce to author- ize the assessor to attend the Assessors ' School, March 2nd to 5th at the Unit- versity of Minnesota. Motion carried. SCHOOL BUS SHELTER No action was taken on this as the School Board had not obtained permission of the adjoining property owners. FIRE ARMS ORDINANCE Mr. Albert Bruce moved to table this until the next meeting as the 2nd February 9, 1965, Page 2 r i reading prompted a discussion by several people: L. Hulbert, Bill Anderson, ! Glen Simon, Ralph Nesbitt and Russell Marsh, among others . MEETING WITH THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION It was agreed to meet with the Planning & Zoning Commission on February 20th at 1 P. M. to discuss the platting ordinance. OPEN HOUSE A report was made by Mr. Quentin Wood stating that Red Owl would supply the catering service for the Open House and the Community Club would act as hostesses. Proceeding on schedule. CARZER, KRUEGER & ASSOCIATES, INC. It was moved by James Brown and seconded by Albert Bruce to accept the report of Carter, Krueger & Associates on the Gravel Pits anct turn over any further work on this to Quentin Wood. There was no further action on the gravel pit license at this time. Motion carried. i EDINA SEWER Mr. Quentin Wood reported that a 12" main for connecting into Edina could have temporary service, and it was moved by Albert Bruce and seconded by Kenneth E. Anderson authorizing Mr. Woos to write to Edina for information on feasi- bility costs, etc. Motion carried. a S W METROPOLITAN SEWER DISTRICT s The report by Rieke-Carroll & Assoc. was accepted. S W SEWER It was moved by Kenneth E. Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to adopt a resolution supporting HF 416 on the Minnesota River. Motion Carried. ROADWORK It was moved by Alvin Bran and seconded by James Brown to add Norman Miller to the list of authorized part time help for roadwork. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 10:45 P. M.
