City Council - 08/06/1964 - Village Meeting August 6, 1964 The Village Council met in room 308 in the Eden Prairie High School on August 6, 1964 at 8 oO clock p. m. Present were: Donald A. Rogers, Mayor Albert L. Bruce, Trustee Kenneth E. Anderson, Trustee James C. Brown, Clerk Archie Carter, Engineer ORDER OF BUSINESS: EXCELSIOR FIRE DEPT . CONTRACT A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Albert Bruce to accept the contract with the Excelsior Fire Dept. for 1964-65 and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign same. Motion carried. PAY FOR ELECTION JUDGES A action was made by Albert Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to authorize the Clerk to pay $1.50 per hour for election ,judges. Motion carried. VILLAGE HALL A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Albert Bruce to have the Borresen Construction Co. proceed with Add&ndun No. 1 to the Village Hall contract. a Motion carried. i NIGHT LIGHT FOR GARAGE i A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Albert Bruce to authorize Ray Stodola to contact Northern States Power Co. regarding a night light at the Village Garage. y 1 Motion carried. TOP VIEW ACRES - WATER SYSTEM o Mr. Mayeron of Orr-Schelen-Mayeron & Associates Mr. Carter of Carter, Kruger & Associates & Black & Veatah Mr. Muller of Rieke-Carroll & Associates Mr. Schoell of Schoell & Madson The above appeared before the Council individually as consulting Engineers on the Top View Acres water project and presented their firms for this project and the Village. Trustee Archie Carter, Engineer ORDER OF BUSINESS: MINUTES A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by James Brown to accept the minutes of the July 22nd and 24th meetings as written. Motion carried. BIDS - SEAL COATING AND REPAIR A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to accept the bids for seal coating in Eden View II, Stevens Heights, Kings Court I. Kings Court II and repair of #66 and table the bids for the Engineer to study. Motion carried. // A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to award L_ the bid to Plehal Blacktoppping, Inc. for all projects except #85.36 for road #66 which Engineer Carter will study. Motion carried. REZONING - PEARSO'N PROPERTY A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to adopt Ordinance #47 rezoning the Pearson property. There were 3 ayes and 1 nay. Motion carried. RILEY LAKE BEACH PROBLEM Mr. Nichols appeared with complaints about after hour noise, speeding, dust and weeds at Riley Lake. A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to set the hours of 8 a. m. to 9 p. m. at the beach and all violators will be charged with a misdemeanor and fined $100.00. Motion carried. The Road Commissioner has been instructed to put up a chain barricade at the entrance to the Village beach which is to be closed at 9 p• m. He has also been instructed to cut the weeds.
