City Council - 05/14/1963 - Village Meeting y� r May 14, 1963 The village council of Eden Prairie met in room 308 in the Eden Prairie High School May 14, 1963 at 8 o•clock P. M. Present were: Donald Rogers, Mayor Rolf Haugen, Treasurer Albert Bruce, Trustee Elmer E. Clark, Clerk Alvin Bren, Trustee W. Harlan Perbix, Attorney Kenneth Anderson, Trustee Edna M. Holmgren, Bookkeeper ,z ORDER OF BUSINESS: MINUTES A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren that the minutes of the last meeting be accepted. Motion carried. VOUCHERS & RECEIPTS A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren that checks ' #1016 through #1061 be issued and the recording made of receipts #1613 through #1655. Motion carried. NORTHERN STATES P067R RATES Complaints were heard from several farmers in Eden Prairie in regard to high electric rates. Mr. Sumdem and Mr. Currie were present from Northern States Power Co. and promised to report the complaints to the rate department for a further check and will report back to the council in a couple of weeks. SMETANA Mr. Ed Smetana would like to install a Philip Sitton Septic Tank on his property but this system is not in the Eden Prairie Plumbing Code so it has been referred to the Village Engineer for approval. GERARD A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren that the preliminary plat of Top View Acres be accepted subject to the applicant furnish- ing the standard road contract in regard to completion of roads. Motion carried. EI.�.I A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to set up a hearing on June nth in regard to re-zoning the Zickholt property. /Q yse Motion carried. May 14, 1963 (Page 2) GRAVEL PIT ORDINANCE A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to change the Gravel Pit Ordinance regulating the operation of such pits, elimin- ating Section 3, the rewording of Section 7, Part S, and Section 5, Part G pertaining to increases in amounts of insurance required. Increases are to be for $100,000 for injury to one person, and $300,000 for one accident, and at least $50,000 property damage coverage. Motion carried. BELHURST ADDITION A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to approve the final plat of Belhurst Addition subject to the standard road con- tract. Motion carried. DONATION TO COUNTY FAIR A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to do- nate $50.00 to the Hennepin County Agricultural Society to be used for 4H work at the Hennepin County Fair this year. Motion carried. ORDINANCE #7 A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to amend Ordinance #7 in regard to transmission lines in Eden Prairie. Motion carried. RECKE & RECKE A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren to authorize the Building Inspector to issue a permit to move a building from Lilac Lanes to Highway #169 and County Road #1 for a Drive-In Restaurant. Motion carried. VILLAGE GOVERNMENT ,PLANS A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to appoint a standing committee to gather information relative to fdopting plans A B C of Village Government rather than the utandard form we now have. Motion carried. DISCUSSIONS More discussions were held on seal coating roads in the village, voter registration, and the plans for a village hall. Meeting adjourned at 11:45 P. M. Elmer E.
