City Council - 02/12/1963 - Village Meeting C/I CD February 12, 1963 The Village Council met at the American Legion Hall February 12, 1963 at 8 og clock P.M. Present were: Donald Rogers, Mayor Elmer E. Clark, Clerk Al Bruce, Trustee Archie Carter, Engineer Alvin Bren, Trustee W. Harlan Perbia, Attorney Kenneth Anderson, Trustee Edna Holmgren, Bookkeeper Rolf Haugen, Treasurer Wm. Mitton, Auditor Several Visitors The meeting was called to order by Mayor, Rogers who called for the reading of the minutes of the last meeting ubich were approved after the correction was made in regard to the delegate to attend board meetings of Suburban Gas Agency from David Dale to Alvin Bren. ~M A nation was made and duly seconded that the council approve payment of checks #818 through #928. Motion carried. A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren that the council approve the reoommendetion of Treasurer, Rolf Haugen. A copy is on file in the minute book. Motion carried. jL A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Al Bruce that Alvin Bran be appointed an alternate member of the council for the signing of checks. 9 U- 1 Q Motion carried. A motion was duly made and seconded that the council accept the audit report presented by CPA, Mr. W. E. Mittons. s Motion carried. A motion was duly made and seconded that the amples of building material presented by the Stewart Lumber Co. be turned over to the Building Inspector, Mr. Trutna for study and his recommendation. Motion carried. . A motion was duly made and seconded that the request of the Alexander Construction Co. for an asphalt mixing pliant to be used in r Sam Glen Pit be referred to the Zoning Board for recowwndation. Motion carried. 1^ Page 2 - February 12, 1963 A motion was duly made and seconded that the Village Council hold a public hearing on the re-zoning of Ed Tobias, Elmer Tobias, and Oothoudt properties from A.A.-R.C. districts to Ml district. The $85.00 check for re-zoning has not been received. Motion carried. The date of the hearing will be March 12, 1963, property owners are to be sent notices of the hearing. Motion carried. A motion was made and seconded that Ray Stodola be authorized to have a used motor put in the Ford track. Motion carried. A motion ryas duly made and seconded that Ray Stodola be authorised to purchase a compressor and motor for the village garage. Motion carried. T'he Plumbing Inspector is to be notified that Benson•s disposal is running on road side. A motion was made and seconded that Ray Stodola be authorized to purchase the necessary signs for road posting. 1 Motion carried. A motion ryas made and seconded granting Ray Stodola a $5.00 Petty Cash Fund. Motion carried. A motion was made and seconded that the council adopt Ordinance #29 regarding Beer. Motion carried. A motion was made and seconded that the council adopt Ordinance #32 pertainift to Cigarettes. Motion carried. A motion was made by Al Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren that the Village Council accept the offer of the School Board for a room in the new High School Building for all Village Meetings. Motion carried. i Page 3 - February 12. 1963 A notion wss made and seconded that the Village Council proceed with the preliminary plans for a Village Hall. Motion carried. Plans are to be submitted to W. Sarlan Perbix. A notion was made by Mr. Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren that the council appoint a standby committee for the purpose of investigations and recommendations on troublesome problems as they cone before the council. 1 Motion carried. i Meeting adjourned at 12:30 A.
