' Oved rind _­.Ivin _.)r:�r socorided ti;,tT Resolution r,u .,r I V R�4 ol it t i om re c-9 iv I rz _ind cal I ing for. he,-ring o I-, j,D.,t ed Oil %0 0 .'o t i On Ce rri ad Ir Yhere iainc no fur t—r-r bauirjo�oi4 ,eetiig iidj:;urned. e-rk ti RESOLUTION WHEREAS, there have been negotiations between the Minneapolis Gas Company and communities served by the suburban division of the Minneapolis Gas Company over an extended period of time, resulting in the drafting of a proposed new uniform franchise ordinance for communities served by the suburban division of the Minneapolis Gas Company, and WHEREAS, after a thorough analysis of the provisions of such proposed franchise ordinance, a firm of rate consultants a acting on behalf of such communities has recommended that such franchise ordinance be adopted, and WHEREAS, after having examined and analyzed the provisions of the said franchise ordinance, it is the considered judgment Town Board of this eet*ne k that the enactment of said franchise ordinance will be beneficial to this municipality and in the best interests of consumers of gas in this municipality, and it appears to this Town Board leeeee#-I that said franchise ordinance should be enacted, and WHEREAS, it is necessary that the Legislature of the State of Minnesota enact enabling legislation to insure that said franchise ordinance may be validly enacted by this mu- nicipality, and WHEREAS, agreement has also been reached on the provisions of a bill which, if enacted, would provide the necessary Y enabling legislation; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Board E�e"ne*l- of the Township of Eden Pra{rja_b , as follows: 1. It is hereby declared to be the intention of this Town Board ee►titrte!61--to adopt the aforementioned franchise ordinance im- mediately after, and providing that, the Legislature of the State of Minnesota enacts enabling legislation authorizing and `s empowering this municipality to enact such franchise ordinance. This eettnek-1 herewith urgers the enactment by the Legislature of the State of Minnesota of appropriate enabling legislation which will permit this municipality to adopt the aforementioned uniform franchise ordinance, so as to act in concert with other municipalities in the regulation of the rates and practices of the Minneapolis Gas Company, such en- abling legislation to be in substantially the form of the legislative bill which accompanies the aforementioned franchise ordinance.
