CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL Chair Leeper called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Griffin and Knight were absent and Weaver attended remotely. II. INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS Chief Matt Sackett from the Eden Prairie Police Department was present. III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA MOTION: Khan moved, seconded by Aliweyd, to approve the agenda. Motion carried 10-0. IV. APPROVAL OF THE JULY 14, 2022 MEETING MINUTES MOTION: Skeie moved, seconded by Pfahnl, to approve the minutes dated July 14, 2022. Motion carried 10-0. V. LOCAL NON-PROFIT PRESENTATION – CHIEF MATT SACKETT, EPPD Chief Matt Sackett said he has been with the Eden Prairie Police Department for the past 20 years and Hopkins Police Department for 5 years before that. While at Hopkins Police Department, he said he worked with Eden Prairie Police Department and liked what he saw and decided he would like to work for that department. He started off as an officer and eventually became a sergeant and then lieutenant and finally chief. He said he gets asked a lot if he likes his job and he does; he likes supporting the community and in turn them supporting him in his position. Khan had a question regarding mass shootings and how the department responds to them. Chief Sackett said back in 2013 they developed a team to address this problem regarding active shooters.
