COMMISSION MEMBERS: Greg Leeper (Chair), Shahram Missaghi, (Vice Chair), Sana Elassar, Philip Skeie, Asad Aliweyd, Samuel Griffin, John Urbanski, Susan Weaver, Zaheer Khan, Christine Kleckner, Jody Knight, Brenda Pfahnl, Kuhu Singh
COMMISSION STAFF: Megan Yerks, Staff Liaison Julie Krull, Recording Secretary I. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Vice Chair Missaghi called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. Commission Member Kleckner arrived after the Approval of the April minutes and Chair Leeper arrived during the Staff Report. Kleckner left during the Staff Report. Aliweyd, Pfahnl, Singh and Weaver were absent.
II. INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS
There were no guests present.
III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
MOTION: Griffin moved, seconded by Elassar, to approve the agenda. Motion carried
7-0.
IV. APPROVAL OF THE APRIL 4, 2022 MEETING MINUTES Prior to the approval of the minutes, Yerks said she had talked to City Manager Rick
Getschow regarding the process to make changes to the minutes of the Joint Commission
meeting with the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Commission. He stated it would be acceptable to make the changes when approving the minutes. Yerks also explained to the Commissioners the process for taking minutes and that the minutes just capture the main concept and not everything that is said. The minutes are a summary of the meeting and not a
transcript. Vice Chair Missaghi pointed out the discussions or conversations can generally be
summarized in the minutes but the decisions need to be exact. MOTION: Urbanski moved, seconded by Khan, to approve the minutes dated April 4, 2022. Motion carried 7-0.
