I. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Chair Fisher called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Absent was student member Lunda.
II. READING OF LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT STATEMENT
Parekh read the land acknowledgement statement.
III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
MOTION: Schumacher moved, seconded by Bowes to approve the agenda. Motion
carried 7-0.
IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
MOTION: Scipioni moved, seconded by Maxwell to approve the minutes of the
September 19, 2022, minutes. Motion carried 7-0.
V. NEW BUSINESS
A. PRESENTATION ON THE MINNESOTA RIVER VALLEY AND
THE OTHERDAY FAMILY (THORP)
Thorp displayed a map of the western river valley and explained he had
gone through the survey notes of 1854 to plot the river on the map. It had
moved quite a bit over the last 180 years. At each bend in the river the
