HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 27-2012 - Repealing Cable TV Regulatory Ordinance 52-96 - 07/26/2012 CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA ORDINANCE NO. 27-2012 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING THE CABLE TELEVISION REGULATORY ORDINANCE WHEREAS, the City Code Chapter 25 currently contains a Cable Television Regulatory Ordnance ("Regulatory Ordinance") which governs the provision of cable services by cable operators in the City of Eden Prairie, Minnesota("City"); and WHEREAS, on July 17, 2012 the City adopted Ordinance No. 52-96 granting a Cable Television Franchise ("Franchise") to Comcast of Arkansas / Florida / Louisiana / Minnesota / Mississippi / Tennessee, Inc., ("Comcast") to provide cable services and maintain and operate a cable communications system within the City; and WHEREAS, the Franchise incorporates all of the key provisions of the Regulatory Ordinance that the City may still enforce under applicable law thereby eliminating the need to maintain the Regulatory Ordinance as part of the City Code. NOW THEREFORE, the City of Eden Prairie, Minnesota hereby ordains: Section 1. City Code Chapter 25 - The Cable Television Regulatory Ordinance No. 52-96 is hereby repealed in its entirety. Section 2. This ordinance is effective immediately upon passage and publication.
