HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 19-2006 - Amending City Code Section 3.05 Relating to Discontinuance of Municipal Utilities - 08/01/2006 CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA ORDINANCE 19- 2006 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 3.05, SUBD. 3 RELATING TO DISCONTINUANCE OF SERVICE OF MUNICIPAL UTILITIES AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE CITY CODE CHAPTER 1 AND SECTION 3.99 WHICH AMONG OTHER THINGS, CONTAIN PENALTY PROVISIONS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE,MINNESOTA ORDAINS: Section 1. City Code Section 3.05, Subd. 3 is amended by adding Paragraph D. as follows: D. The owner or occupant of the premises served by the City's municipal water service fails (a) within 10 days after written request by the City to the owner or occupant, to provide a time, within 30 days of the written request, to permit entry into the premises by the City, its employees or contractors, during normal working hours, for the purpose of repairing, replacing, modifying or equipping the premises water meter or the equipment for the reading of the meter, or(b) to permit entry into the premises by the City, its employees or contractors to repair, replace, modify or equip the water meter or the equipment for the reading of the meter at and during the time provided. Section 2. City Code Chapter 1, entitled "General Provisions and Definitions Applicable to Entire City Code including Penalty for Violation" and Sections 3.99 containing penalty provisions are hereby adopted in their entirety by reference although repeated verbatim herein. Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage and publication.
