RESOLUTION NO. 86-9
A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE INVOLVEMENT OF THE CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE IN THE
PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE RILEY CREEK CHAIN OF LAKES CLEAN LAKES
PROJECT
WHEREAS , the City of Eden Prairie City Council desires to plan for the
preservation and enhancement of the water quality of Riley Lake , and
WHEREAS , the water quality of Riley Lake could be significantly improved
through the implementation of the Riley Creek Chain of Lakes Clean Lakes
Project , and
WHEREAS , the overall plan of the Watershed District and several
intermediate studies have identified the desirability of implementing measures
to improve the inlake water quality and control non point source pollution ,
and
WHEREAS , several other agencies have shown a simultaneous interest in the
construction and implementation of measures to improve inlake water quality
and control non point source pollution , and
WHEREAS, the Riley Purgatory Creek Bluff Creek Watershed District has
agreed to act as the coordinating body for the management of the water
resources of the District , and
WHEREAS , the Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District has
authorized its staff to develop an application to the Minnesota Pollution
Control Agency for transmittal to the United States Environmental Protection
Agency to obtain funding for the implementation of the Riley Creek Chain of
Lakes Clean Lakes Project ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Eden
Prairie agrees to jointly participate in the grant application subject to all
necessary public hearings and review of costs to the City of Eden Prairie.
ADOPTED this 7th day of January, 1986.
