RESOLUTION NO. 81-1.4
RESOLUTION DEFINING RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS AND SERVICES
COMMISSION RELATING TO THE REVIEW OF HUMAN SERVICE PROPOSALS
WHEREAS, the City of Eden Prairie,by adoption of Ordinance No .
111, has established a Human Rights and Services Commission for the
purpose of advising the City Council on matters pertaining to human
service activities, programs and facilities, and
WHEREAS, the Human Rights and Services Commission, in cooperation
witli the South Hennepin Human Services Council, and the cities of
Bloomington, Edina and Richfield, is conducting a Study of Human
Service Needs in South Hennepin County which includes the following
broad areas of human services:
a. child/adult protection
b . personal public health
C . senior programs
d. chemical dependency
e. youth services
f. mental health
g. information/referral and coordination
1 ` h. commun:Lty/public education and prevention
i. financial/emergency assistance/welfare
j . mentally/physically handicapped
k. transportation (for special populations)
1 . child care/day care
In. housing (for special. populations)
NOW, THEREFORE, BI, IT RESOLVED that the City of Eden Prairie does
recognize that the Human Rights and Services Commission shall be involved
in reviewing all proposals regarding the development of and/or funding
of activities, programs and facilities pertaining to but not limited
to the above mentioned areas of human services, and for making recommend-
ations 'to the City Council .
