HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 78-120 - Commendation for Ray Earis - CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 78-120 RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION FOR RAY EARLS WHEREAS, Ray A. Earls came to the then Village of Eden Prairie on June 21, 1971 as the Village Public Works Supervisor, and WHEREAS, he has since that time faithfully pursued his duties in the most extraordinary manner, and WHEREAS, he has always turned a deaf ear to homeowners totally unreasonable requests to patch the pits in front of their residences which seemed to magically appear, and WHEREAS, he has incurred the everlasting friendship of his supervisor through his prowless on the golf course by lightening said supervisors billfold, and WHEREAS, he has always saved the City considerable money by his frugal purchasing of automotive repair parts and also motor fuels by steadfastly refusing to repair said vehicle, and WHEREAS, much to the consternation of residents he has also tried to save the City money by eliminating the use of salt to remove ice and snow from the roadways in the City, and • WHEREAS, to save on snowplow blades he ordered those under his direction to never place the blades closer that 1 foot 3 inches from the paved surface, and WHEREAS, he has deemed that he will dedicate his life of retirement to erase forever the concept of cul-de-sacs from human knowledge, and WHEREAS, the Public Safety Department has reported a steady decrease in the number of speeding tickets issued due to the increasing number of pot holes on City streets, .and WHEREAS, after doing all of the above he has now determined to do nothing at all . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Eden Prairie, on behalf of the citizens of the City of Eden Prairie, that Ray A. Earls be herein commended for his diligence in the pursuit of his responsibility as Public Works Supervisor for the City of Eden Prairie, and FURTHER, RESOLVED that he and his wife, Marge, enjoy excellent health and complete happiness from this date forward. 1 i 'll fgaAd H4 Penzel , Mayor ATTEST: cane, Clerk - SEAL• "'
