HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 78-61 - Authorizing Participation in Joint Airport Zoning Board - 03/21/1978 rlt/jh 3/22/78 CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 78-61 AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION OF A JOINT AIRPORT ZONING BOARD At a meeting of the City Council of the City of Eden Prairie on the 21st day of March, 1978 Councilman OSterholt , seconded by Councilman Pauly , introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption. WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Airports Commission, hereinafter called the municipality, owns and controls Flying Cloud Field, a general utility airport located in Hennepin County; and WHEREAS, the property adjacent to such airport is located entirely • within the territorial limits of the City of Eden Prairie; and WHEREAS, some of the airport hazard area to such airport is located within the territorial limits of the City of Shakopee, Dakota County, Minnesota; and WHEREAS, although the City of Eden Prairie has maintained and is currently in the process of establishing a new guide plan which provides all of the appropriate zoning restrictions on property adjacent to Flying Cloud Field, the municipality has adopted a Resolution pursuant to Minnesota Statute 360.063 Subd. 3 requiring the establishment of a Joint Airport Zoning Board, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the undersigned City of Eden Prairie as follows: 1. Although the City of Eden Prairie believes that the zoning of the property in the City of Eden Prairie is the responsibility of the City of Eden Prairie and that the City of Eden Prairie is fully capable of taking care of the necessary zoning of this property in full compliance with all Federal and State Y laws because of the provisions of Section 360.063 Subd. 3, it is hereby agreeing to designate its representatives of the City of Eden Prairie on a Joint Airport Zoning Board Councilwoman Joan Meyers and Councilman Billy Bye and is further requesting the designation of Mayor Wolfgang Penzel from the City of Eden Prairie as the chairman of said Joint Zoning Board to serve for an indefinite term until they resign or are replaced by the undersigned City.
