HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION NO. 77-48
WHEREAS, Wayne R. Sanders came to the then Village of Eden Prairie
on February 1, 1971 as the Village Building Inspector,
WHEREAS, he has, since that time, brought a measure of levity to us
all by the recitation of virtuous stories,
WHEREAS, on September 11, 1972 Wayne R. Sanders became the Chief
Inspector by virtue of his great knowledge and understanding of the con-
struction of buildings and accessory structures and no less important,
the employment of a second inspector,
WHEREAS, he has always turned a deaf ear on contractors requests to
eliminate the City's requirements that building materials be fastened
together,
WHEREAS, through his efforts the Building Board of Appeals turned
aside all requests for relief from the harshness of the City's requirements,
WHEREAS, he has always been able to expand the scope of the original
one minute conversation to a minimum of one hour, -
WHEREAS, since February 1, 1971 the -Building Department of the City of
Eden Prairie has issued some 9,300 permits relating to construction in Eden
Prairie, the value of said construction being in excess of 110 million dollars,
WHEREAS, almost all such improvements are still standing in their
original form and place, having withstood the ravages of earthquakes and
little children,
WHEREAS, his concern for his fellow employees comfort has driven him
to leave the City's employ, thus making available additional office space,
WHEREAS, as of April 11, 1977, Wayne R. Sanders was able, through his
great knowledge and understanding of the sticky crimson ribbons adhering
to State Building Codes, to secure employment as an unraveler of said
sticky crimson ribbons. A lofty position, indeed.
WHEREAS, this office demands a dignified presence he now must abandon
his brown wardrobe and assume the white wig and black vesture of the majestrate.
BE IT HERBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the' City of Eden Prairie on
behalf of the citizens of the City of Eden Prairie that Wayne R. Sanders be
commended for his diligence in the pursuit of his responsibilities as Chief
Inspector of the City of Eden Prairie.
AND FURTHER RESOLVED that he succeed in any and all endeavors he may
undertake.
