HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 1077 - Regarding Naysmith-Townsend Residence Hall for Nurses at Glen Lake Sanitorium - 01/06/1976 CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 1077 A RESOLUTION ADDRESSED TO THE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS IN RESPECT TO THE NAYSMITH-TOWNSEND RESIDENCE HALL FOR NURSES AT THE GLEN LAKE SANITARIUM WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners did approve the eventual demolition of the Naysmith-Townsend Residence Hall for nurses at the Glen Lake Sanitarium Complex, and WHEREAS, the City Council has been informed that it has been determined by certain studies that said building is struc- turally sound and in good condition, and WHEREAS, the City Council verily believes that said building represents a potentially viable site for the location of various state, county, or local programs and services, and WHEREAS, the City Council further believes that proper con- sideration of the merits of such building was not given by the County Board of Commissioners prior to its decision to approve of the demolition of such building and the City Council deems it proper and in the public interest and for a public purpose to request the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners to reconsider the demolition of said building: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE THAT the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners be and hereby are urged to reconsider their approval of the de- molition of such building and further urges the Board to make additional studies in respect to the potential use of such building and directs the City Staff to assist the County in such studies.
