RESOLUTION N0. 624
RESOLUTION URGING THE IiENNEPIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO RECOGNIZE
THE SOUTH HENNEPIN HUMATI SERVICES PLANNING BOARD AS TIIE OFFICIAL
HUMAN SERVICES PLANNING UNIT FOR SOUTH SUBURBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY
AND TO D'aIEDIATELY COMMIT COUNTY RESOURCES TO THE PROVISION OF
PROGRAMS OF' SERVICE RECOMIVIENDLD BY THE SOUTH HIsIdNEPIN BOARD.
WHEREAS, the Village of Eden Prairie, along with the City of Bloomington,
Edina and Richfield, a member of the South Hennepin Human Services
Planning Board, which is formed under -the Joint Powers Act; and
WHEREAS, the South Hennepin Human Services Planning Board has made an
evaluation of the human service needs in the south suburban area,
as well as an inventory of existing services, upon which recom-
mendations regarding priorities of action by the County may be
formulated: and
WHEREAS, there is now sufficient information to enable the County to
initiate some of the needed programs of service in the south
suburban area;
P,EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of
NOW, THE
i Eden Prairie in regular meeting assembled, that the Hennepin County
Commissioners are urged to recognize the South Hennepin Human
Services Planning Board as the official human services planning unit
for the south suburban area of Hennepin County, including the
j communities of Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina and Richfield, and
to commit County funds and other resources to the provision of
needed programs of service as recommended by the South Hennepin
Human Services Planning Board.
