I. ROLL CALL/CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER
Chair Tyra-Lukens called the meeting to order at 9:13 PM in shared session with the City
Council. All members were present.
II. APPROVE MINUTES OF HRA MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 6, 2011
MOTION: Nelson moved, seconded by Case, to approve the minutes of the HRA
meeting held on December 6, 2011 as published. Motion carried 5-0.
III. ADOPT RESOLUTION HRA 2012-01 CONVEYING CERTAIN PROPERTY
FROM THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY IN AND FOR
THE CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE (AUTHORITY) TO THE CITY OF EDEN
PRAIRIE (CITY) AND TERMINATING THE LEASE WITH THE CITY
Getschow said these actions relate to the City Center and the original acquisition of the
City Center. He noted this is somewhat of a housekeeping procedure. The HRA approved
the purchase of the property and the issuance of bonds for the property. There are
leaseholders in City Center who are also connected to this issue. The main issue is that the
HRA issued bonds and then refunded bonds. In February of this year all bond payments
have been made, therefore the lease payments from the City to the HRA have been
fulfilled. This action conveys the property to the City of Eden Prairie. The City Council
will then determine the lease between the HRA and the City. He noted the lease with C.H.
Robinson expires in 2014 and the lease with the School District runs through 2023.
Tonight's actions may trigger potential termination of the lease with the School District.
Rosow said the City Council motion should come before the HRA motion.(See Item XI.A.
in the City Council minutes for April 17, 2012.)
MOTION: Aho moved, seconded by Nelson, to adopt Resolution HRA 2012-01
authorizing the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) in and for the city of Eden
Prairie to convey to the City of Eden Prairie all of the HRA's right, title and interest in the
property subject to the HRA lease and declaring the termination of the HRA lease. Motion
carried 5-0.
