I. ROLL CALL/INTRODUCTIONS

After the tour, the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Commission members met to discuss
the following:
III. TRAILS
Commission members asked for a review of the City Council's actions regarding the
Staring Lake and Rice Marsh Lake trail connections. The commission unanimously
passed a motion to ask the City Council to reconsider their decision and support the trail
projects.
IV. FLYING CLOUD FIELDS AND GARDEN PLOT LEASES

City Manager Scott Neal and Parks and Recreation Director Jay Lotthammer discussed
the history of negotiations and the current lease proposal. Commission members provided
feedback and unanimously recommended that the City Council enter into an agreement
with the Metropolitan Airports Commission to lease the athletic fields and garden space.
V. BUDGET ADVISORY COMMISSION MEMO
Commission members provided thoughts and recommendations regarding the memo
scheduled to go the Budget Advisory Commission. Parks and Recreation Director Jay
Lotthammer outlined the time line for delivering the memo and thanked the commission
for the input and feedback.
VI. NEXT MEETING
The next regular meeting of the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Commission is
scheduled for Monday, August 2, 2010 at City Center at 7 p.m. The meeting will begin
with a workshop with the Conservation Commission, followed by the regular meeting.
