Both of the proposed System D corridors have been studied and considered in the development of the Village' s Comprehensive Guide Plan and are acceptable in principle. 2. The concept of a single interchange in the segment of the System D 169-18 corridor between County Road 62 and Interstate 494 is acceptable provided the type and design of that interchange is sufficient to accommodate the scale and intensity of the industrial traffic which will be generated in the future.Because of the di s-si mi ] ari ty of the land uses on either side of the freeway in this segment, an additional grade separation for continuity of local traffic is neither necessary or desirable. 3. Eden Prairie should have a minimum of two points of access to the segment of the proposed System D 4 69-18 corridor between Interstate 494 and the Minnesota River. This segment should contain two additional grade separations for local traffic connections to and from Bloomington. The locations of each of these facilities must recognize the thoroughfare plans of both Eden Prairie and Bloomington. La. The segment of the System D 212 corridor route between County Road 18 and Interstate 494 is consistent with the plans which the Village has previously approved for constr«ction. 5. The Village must have at least three points of access to 'the segment of the Systern D 212 corridor west of the Interstate 494. Access to the crest leg of the 494-212 interchange ring route system is a top priority. Additional access locations could be at Mitchell Road, County Road 4 and/or Venture Road. Grade separations at these location are essential. 6. System D traffic volume projections for T.H. 5 suggest probable improvement of that roadway to expressway standards. If the design requirements for merging the T.H. 5 and T.H. 212 volumes will foreclose the possibility of developing local access between T.H. 212 and the Village' s proposed 494-212 interchange ring route system, then the Village must request that the T.N. 5 traffic generated from locations west of the metropolitan area be diverted to a more appropriate route.
