ADVISORY C OU 4CTI,
THEREAS, it is desirable to encourage and maintain citizen interest
in Vii.1age affairs; and
MjERF.A.S, there are many citlzeus with special talents and interests
wYio could assist the Council in areas of municipal policy
fo_nrailation and reviews; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to continuously improve channels of
coma i=cation between Village government and the citizens it
serves; and

organizations, advisory cowaissions, and civic groups
periodically select officers or others to represent their

organizations in ccmunity affairs;
NOW, IMEREFORU, RE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF UM VILLAGE
OF EDEN PRAIRIE as follows:
1. That there is hereby established an EDEZ4 PRAIRIE CITI= 'S
ADVISOR~' M-k.;UJCIL whose purpose shall be to assist the Village
Council in the accunailation and analysis of data and attitudes
relating to matters of municipal policy fornwlation and/or
review, and to assist the Village Council in the dissert-tination
of information about Village governmmnt operations to the citizens
of the Village.
Z. CIS ILI°S ADVISORY COUNCIL shall be unposed of
the president, chairman or selectee: representatives of all
Eden Prairie civic, church, service and neighbc3rhood
organi.zaticais plus former noembers of elected or appointed
official Village bodies for a period of one year following
the date they leave their position.
3. rrhe first meeting of the CI91ILF14 IS ADVISORY COUNCIL
shall be called by the Mayor and at such mee-timg the niEnIbers
of the CITI Z.E'N°S ADVISORY COUNCrI, shall select whatever
officers they deein necessary. A- iese officers small heneezo-t;i
be responsible for the operation of the CITIZEN°S ADVISORY
P CCUNCIL subject only to the general guidance of the Village
Council.
4. THE, CITIZEN°S ADVISORY COUNCTL may call upon the Village
Manager and his staff for assistance as needed.
5. TFiE CITIZEN'S ADVISORY COUNCIL shall give cxAnsideration to
those subjects which the Village Council may periodically ask
it to study as well as other matters which the CITIZIZ °S ADVISORY
COUNCIL deems to be of general eam unity concern.
ADOPTED by the Village Council of the Village of Eden Prairie this
25 day of February, 1969.
