HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 212 - Relating to Issuance of $550,000 Park Improvement Bonds, $175,000 Fire Station Bonds, and $60,000 Municipal Building Bonds - 05/28/1968 VILLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 212 o A RESOLUTION RELATING TO ISSUANCE OF $550,000 PARK IMPROVEMENT BONDS, $175,000 FIRE STATION BONDS AND $ 60,000 MUNICIPAL BUILDING BONDS. BE IT RESOLVED by-,the Village Council of the Village of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, as follows: 1 . The Village Council has determined that it is necessary and expedient to issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of not to exceed $550,000 to provide money to acquire and develop parks acid recreational facilities, as authorized by Minnesota Statutes, Section 471 . 15. 2. The village council has determined that it is necessary and expedient to issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of not to exceed $175,000 to provide money to construct, furnish and equip a fire station. 3. The village council has determined that it is necessary and expedient to issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount of not to exceed $ 60,000 to provide money to construct, furnish and equip a building for a municipal equipment, maintenance and service center. 4. The question of the issuance of bonds for such purposes shall be submitted to the voters of the village at a special village election to be held June 25, 1968. The polls shall be opened at 7:00 o'clock A.M. and remain open until 8:00 o'clock P.M. 5. The village clerk is authorized and directed to cause printed ballots to be prepared for use at said election, in which the propositions shall be stated in substantially the follow;ng form: OFFICIAL BALLOT SPECIAL VILLAGE ELECTION VILLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA June 25, 1968 _ SHALL THE VILLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE (_) YES ISSUE ITS NEGOTIABLE COUPON BONDS _ IN THE AMOUNT OF NOT TO EXCEED ( ) NO $550,000 TO PROVIDE MONEY FOR ACQUIRING AND DEVELOPING PARKS AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - _ SHALL THE VILLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE (_) YES ISSUE ITS NEGOTIABLE COUPON BONDS _ IN THE AMOUNT OF NOT TO EXCEED (_) NO $175,000 TO PROVIDE MONEY FOR CONSTRUCTING, FURNISHING AND EQUIPPING A FIRE STATION? • - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SHALL THE VILLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE (`) YES ISSUE ITS NEGOTIABLE COUPON BONDS IN THE AMOUNT OF NOT TO EXCEED (`) NO $ 60,000 TO PROVIDE MONEY FOR CONSTRUCTING, FURNISHING AND EQUIPPING A BUILDING FOR A MUNICIPAL EQUIPMENT, MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE CENTER? INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS: Voters desiring to vote in favor of any of the foregoing propositions shall make a cross murk (X) in the square before the word YES. Voters desiring to vote against any of the foregoing propositions shall make a cross mark (X) in the square before the word NO. VOTE ON EACH QUESTION �. The village clerk shall cause notice of said election to be given as required by law, by publication in the official newspaper of the village once each week for at least two weeks prior to said election and by posting in at least three public and conspicuous places in the village at least ten days prior to said election. • 7. The said election shall be held and conducted in accordance with the Statutes of the State of Minnesota applicable to village elections, and the Council shall meet after closing of the polls for the purpose of canvassing said election and declaring the results thereof.
