CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE
EDEN PRAIRIE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING
December 6, 1965

Guest: Paul Fjare, Brauer and Associates
The meeting was called to order by the chairman.
It was moved, seconded and carried that the minutes of the
last meeting stand approved as printed.
Flying Cloud Recre- Don Nygaard read the letter from Jams Brown., Village Clerk,
F-- ational area regarding the use of Flying Cloud recreationa,l area. Letter
-Z-Z filed with minutes.

+� Cooperation with The Secretary was instructed to write a letter to the
o Planning and Planning and Zoning Commission to inform the Park Board
Zoning Commission whenever business involving parks and recreation mwrz was
coming up, so a member of the Park and Recreation Commission
could express the views of the Commission.
Brauer amd Assoc. The meeting was turned over to Paul Fjare, representing
Brauer and AssociLtes, a park planning firm located in
Eden Prairie. He gave the background of members of the
firm and briefly told of park planning jobs they had
handled in Minnesota communities.
He then went over the presentation prepared for the meeting,
(copy on file).
Services from Brauer are available on almost any basis
we would desire, from occasional consultation to doing a
complete job of planning a park system.
He mentioned that Dave Forrester, Recreational PlInner for
the Metropolitan Punning Commission might be able to give
us helpful advice.

I am enclosing two copies of the letter to the Park and
Recreation C, iission from James Brown. VMge Clerk, regarding
the Flying Cloud Recreation field.
It answers some of your questions raised at our last meeting.
and perhaps you can get further information from examining
the lease, which is on file at theVillage Hall.
The Park and Recreation Commission wants to cooperate with your
group wherever possible. We look forward to meeting with you
again to talk over plans based on this new information.

Dear Krs. Blacklock:
Your letter to IIr. T`Iood, Village Engineer, is being handled
by the writer, as "this does not come under Engineering.
Copies of the lease between the Village & IQIC are not avail-
able for distribution; a file copy is available at the Hall
at all times.
CThe lease jives the Village 450,000 square feet of land as
shown on the aL•tachod layout.
No more than six (6) baseball diamonds can be constructed on
this land. All fixtures must be of a non-permanent nature.
The lease can be L•erminated at any time by -the I-AC.
Special signs have to be erected before this area can be used
by the public. These signs have been made and are stored at
the Village shop.
Regarding the Riley Take survey, this will be requested of the
County for 1966; it was dropped for 1965, because of the road
problems.
