The meeting was called to order by the chairman.

Approved Budget Don Nygaard presented the following Park and Recreation Program
Budget for 1966 as approved by the Councils

Long-range plans The meeting was devoted to open discussion of lang range planning,
and goals goals and ways and means.
Don Nygaard will inquire about arrangements with the Junior Baseball
organization res backstops and use of the Flying Cloud property.
He will also get a plat of the Prairie View School propwty for study.
Don Nygaard will ask Bill Holte to appear the. November meeting to
report on last summerts recreation program and to make requests
and suggestions for next yearls program.
Don Nygaard will contact the Lion's Club res plans for possible
cooperation on park and recreation plans.
We need to learn what school sites the School Board is planning
for the future. Harry Piche. is the new member on the Park and
Recreation Commission representing the School Board.
When the new zoning map is completed the Park and Recreation Comm.
( will work toward a comprehensive park plan, aimed for completion
one year from now.
Don Brauer will be asked to attend the December meeting to discuss
his park planning services.

Park Land There was a discussion of possible means to acquire park land
�' .. Acquisition without a large budget. Village officials can help pass along
on Low Budget information when some of these opportunities occur.

Tax delinquent land purchased for back taxes

Donation of 5% on plattings by developers
Donations of land by civic-minded citizens
Often a tax break makes this a desirable thing to do.)
Flood plain zoning

Options
Long term sale agreements with land owners
Paying on installments
Offering life estate
Buy small parcel each year
