HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 21-89 - Amending Code 3.05, Subdivision 8B - 07/18/1989 ORDINANCE NO. 21-89 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA, AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 3. 05. SUBD. 8. B. RELATING TO LIENS FOR MUNICIPAL UTILITY CHARGES AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE CITY CODE CHAPTER 1, EXCEPT SECTION 1. 03 THEREOF. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE, MINNESOTA, ORDAINS: Section 1. City Code Section 3. 05 Subd. 8. B. is amended to read as follows: B. Each such charge is hereby made a lien upon the premises served. If a charge in excess of $40 .00 is past due for more than thirty (30 ) days on September 30 of any year, or any other date determined by the City Clerk-Treasurer, the total amount past due shall be certified by the City Clerk-Treasurer to the County Auditor prior to the October 25 occurring thereafter and the City Clerk-Treasurer in certifying such charges to the County Auditor shall specify the amount thereof and the description of the premises served. The amount so certified shall be extended by the Auditor on the tax rolls against such premises in the same manner as other taxes, and collected by the County Treasurer, and paid to the City along with other taxes. Section 2. City Code Chapter 1 entitled "General Provisions and Definitions Applicable to the Entire City Code Including Penalty for Violation" except Section 1.03 thereof is hereby adopted by reference, as though repeated verbatim herein. Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage and publication.
