HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 268 - Amending Ordinance No. 152 Relating to Renewal Date of License for Advertising Signs - 07/09/1974 -y .ia �z CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA = ORDINANCE NO. 268 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 152 RELATING TO RENEWAL DATE OF LICENSES FOR ADVERTISING SIGNS The City Council of the City of Eden Prairie ordains as follows: Section 1. Section 4 Subd. 1 of Ordinance No. 152 is amended to read as follows: The owner or installer of the advertising sign shall annually file an application with the City Manager for a license permitting the display of the advertising sign. Licenses must be obtained for all new and existing advertising signs. The license application 1 shall be in the form and manner prescribed by the Manager. Such application shall include an annual license fee of one half the permit fee for all advertising signs. Licenses shall expire on. December 31 of each year and applications must be filed by no later than December 1st. First read at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Eden Prairie this 9th day of July , 1974 and finally read, adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on the 23rd day of July 1974. (2) Said newspaper is a weekly and is distributed at least once each week. t3) Said newspaper has 5011 of its news columns devoted to news of local interest to the community which it purports to serve and does not wholly duplicate any other y publication and is not made up entirely of patents, plate matter and advertisements. (4) Said newspaper is circulated in and near the municipality which it purports to serve, has at least 500 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has an average of at least 75% of its total circulation currently paid or no more than three months in arrears and has entry as second- class matter in its local post-office. (5) Said newspaper purports to serve the Village of Eden Prairie in Hennepin County and it has its known office of issue in the City of Bloomington in Hennepin County, established and open during its regular business hours for t tiie gathering of news, sale of advertisements and sale of subscription and maintained by the managing officer or persons in its employ and subject to his direction and control during all such regular business hours and devoted exclusively during such business hours to the business of the newsppaer and business related thereto. (6) Said newspaper files a copy of each issue immediately with the State Htstorial Society. (7) Said newspaper has complied with all the foregoing a.onditions for at least two years preceding the day or dates of publication .with below. (8) Said newspaper has filed with the Secretary of State of Minnesota prior to January 1. 2966 and each January 1 thereafter an affidavit in the form prescribed by the Secretary of State and signed by the publisher of said newspaper and sworn to before a notary public stating that the newspaper is a legal newspaper.
