ORDINANCE N0.246
ORDINANCE CONTAINING REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF ANDERSON
LAKES.
The Council of. the Village of Eden Prairie does ordain as follows:
Section 1. Anderson Lakes and all that part of the lake front owned by the Village
of Eden Prairie shall be and hereby is set apart for nature study purposes
to be used only for such purposes and for such other recreational
purposes, not inconsistant with nature study purpose, as may be specifically
authorized by resolution of the Village Council.
Section 2. All recreational use of said Anderson Lakes area such as boating,
fishing, swimming, ice boating, and snowmobiling, shall be prohibited
in order to preserve said area in natural habitat, to promote for the
public good and welfare, the entire area as a nature study area.
Section 3. No person shall launch or remove any vessel from the waters or the
ice of Anderson Lakes over public property.
Section 4. Except for Public Officers, in the performance of their duty, no person a
shall enter, remain within, drive, operate any vessel or watercraft
into or within Anderson Lakes. 1
Section 5. No person shall land on or take off from the waters of Anderson Lakes
f with any aircraft.
Section 6. No person shall operate any vessel on the waters of Anderson Lakes which
is operated by mechanical air propulsion above the surface of the water.
Section 7. No person shall throw, discharge, deposit, leave, cause suffer or permit
to be thrown, discharged, deposited, or left either from the sbore, or any
pier, vessel, vehicle, any refuse matter of any description into the waters
of Anderson Lake.
Section 8. Penalty Provision . That any person violating any provision of this
ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a
fine of not more than $300.00 or by imprisonment for not longer than 90
days or both.
First read at a regular meeting of the Council of the Village of Eden Prairie
this 26th day of December , 1973 and finally read, adopted and ordered published

J. R. RITCHAY, being duly sworn, on oath says he is and during all times here stated has
been the vice president and printer of the newspaper known as The Eden Prairie Sun and
has full knowledge of the facts herein stated as follows: (1) Said newspaper is printed in the
English language in newspaper format and in column and sheet form equivalent in printed Yf;,
space to at least 900 square inches. (2) Said newspaper is a weekly and is distributed at least
once each week, (3) Said newspaper has 507. of its news columns devoted to news of local I
interest to the community which it purports to serve and does not wholly duplicate any other ;• i
publication and is not made up entirely of patents, plate matter and advertisements. (4) Said
newspaper is circulated in and near the municipality which it purports to serve, has at least
500 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has an average of at least 75% of its total
circulation currently paid or no more than three months in arrears and has entry as second- ;
class matter in Its local post-office. (5) Said newspaper purports to serve the Village of +,
Eden Prairie in Hennepin County and it has its known office of issue in the City of
Bloomingten in Hennepin County, established and open during its regular business hours for
the gathering of news, sale of advertisements and sale of subscription and maintained by the #j
managing officer or persons in its employ and subject to his direction and control during all
such regular business hours and devoted exclusively during such business hours to the
business of the newsppper and business related thereto. (6) Said newspaper files a copy of
each issue immediately with the State Historial Society, (7) Said newspaper has complied
with all the foregoing conditions for at least two years preceding the day or dates of publication

below. (8) Said newspaper has filed with the Secretary of State of Minnesota prior
to January 1, 1966 and each January 1 thereafter an affidavit in the,form prescribed by the
Secretary of State and signed by the publisher of said newspaper and sworn to before a notary
public stating that the newspaper is a legal newspaper.
