ORDINANCE NO. 199
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO INDIVIDUAL SEWAGE SYSTEMS AND
INDIVIDUAL SEWAGE SYSTEM INSTALLERS AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 34
THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 10 of Ordinance No. 34 is hereby repealed.
Section 2. There is added to Ordinance No. 34 new sections ; 10, 11,
12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 which shall read as follows:
"Section 10. Diagram of Disposal System. Applicant for a permit shall
Tu—rnish a diagram of the lot showing the house well , and sewage system
locations . Diagram must give dimensions. The individual sewage disposal
system must be approved by the Building Inspector before a permit will
be granted.
Section 11. Water Tight Tank. If the septic tank is constructed of
self cur ing blocks, attention should be given to insure water tightness.
Heavy weight concrete block should be laid on a solid foundation and
mortar joints should be well filled. THe interior of the tank should
be surfaced with two 1/4 inch thick coats of portland cement-sand plaster.
Section 12. Distribution Box. If a distribution box is used, it should
have a solid bottom cast as part of the box,

Section 13. Construction of Disposal Trenches. All trenches in a disposal 1
field shall be constructed in accordance with the following standards :
(a) Minimum number of lines per field - 2.
b Maximum length of individual.. lines - 100 feet.
(c Minimum bottom width of trench 24 inches.
(d Minimum depth of cover of tile lines - 8 inches.
(e) Preferred depth of cover of ti 1 e 1 i nes - 8 to 10 inches .
(f Maximum depth of cover of tile lines - 15 inches.
(g Maximum uniform grade of tile lines - 2 inches per 100 feet.
((h Preferred uniform grade of tile lines - 1 to 2 inches per 100 feet.
(i ) Size and spacing of trenches conform to Table 3.
(j) Minimum filter material under tile - 12 inches.
(k) Preferred depth of filter material under tile - 18 to 24 inches. {
(1 ) Minimum filter material over tile - 2 inches.
Section 14. Location of Dis osal Field. The minimum distance between any
subsurface disposal ie and any water supply well or buried water suction
pipe shall be 75 feet.

Section 15. Liabilit Insurance for Sewa a Diseosal System Installers.
The applicant shall also furnish proof that policy of public liability
insurance has been procured by him during the license period, for death
or personal injury arising therefrom to any person or persons, in the
amount of $100,000.00 for each person and $300,000.00 for each incident,
and for damage to property arising from any incident in the amount of not
less than $50,000.00.
Section 16. Evidence of Satisfactor Work. Sewage disposal system installer
applicant must show evidence of satisfactorily carrying a license in the
Village of Eden Prairie or show evidence of satisfactory work in two other
Villages.
Section 17. License. Annual license fee shall be as stated in a separate
icT�` erase and fee—scFe—dule ordinance.
Section 18. Permit Fees. Permit fees shall be as stated in separate license
and fee schedule ordinance.
Section 19. Penalties. Any person violating this ordinance shall be guilty
of a msi demeanor, punishable by a sentence of imprisonment of not more
than 90 days or to payment of a fine of not more than $300.00. Such penalty
may be imposed in addition to revocation or suspension of license. "
Section 3. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 34 is amended to read as follows
"Section 3. Licensinl. No person, f i rm or corporation shall engage in the
business of insta T7i---- ng and constructing sewage disposal systems within the
Village of Eden Prairie without first obtaining a license to carry on such
occupation from the Village Council and procuring and posting with the
Village Clerk a bond in the amount of $2,000.00 in favor of the Village and 3
the public conditioned upon the faithful performance of contracts and
compliance with Village ordinances and State laws. Bond period shall coincide
with license period. Such bond shall be submitted on the form on file in
the office of the Village Clerk. Copies thereof shall be available to all
applicants without charge. The surety thereon shall be a corporation duly
authorized to act in such a manner under the laws of the State of Minnesota.
Such license shall be renewable annually on a form furnished by the Village
Clerk. The fee for such license shall be $15.00."

tonka and Village of Eden Prairie in Hennepin County and it has its known office of issuer.
In the City of Bloomington in Henbepin County, established and open during its regular
business hours for the gathering of news, sale of advertisements and sale of subscriptions and pt�
