HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 174a - Regulating operation of Vehicles - 07/11/1972 VILLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE HFNNEPIN COUNTry MINNESOTA ORDINANCE NO. 17)4A AN ORDINANCE REWLATING THE OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE, INCORPORATING THE PROVISIONS OF THE STATE DRIVERS LICEtiTSE LAW BY REFERENCZ, AND IMPOSING A PBMALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THMEOF, AND REPFAL1NG ORDINANCE NO. 69. THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Drivers Licence Law Incorporated by Reference. There is hereby adopted as an ordinance regulating the operation of motor vehicles on the highways, streets and alleys within the Village of Mien Prairie, the follow- ing statutes of the State of Minnesota, as heretofore amended and now in force and effect, three copies of which are marked as official copies and filed for use and examination by the public in the office of the Village Clerk: All of Chapter 171, Minnesota Revised Statutes, known as the "DRIVERS i LICENSE LAW", except the following section thereof: 171.26. Section 11. Penalty. Any violation of the statute adopted by referemee t f in Section 1 is a violation of this ordinance when it occurs within the Village E of Eden Prairie. Any person thus violating any provisions of this ordinance f shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not to exceed $300.00, or by imprisament in jail for a period of not to exceed ninety (90) days; but if a minimum fine or imprisonment is prescribed by the Drivers License Law for an offense, such penalty shall apply to a person convicted for the same offense under this ordinance. Section III. Ordinance No. 69 is hereby repealed. (5) Said newspaper purports to serve the City of Minne- tonka and Village of Eden Prairie in Hennepin County and it has its known office of issue in the City of Bloomington in Heribepin County, established and open during its regular business hours for the gathering of news, sale of advertisements and sale of subscriptions and maintained by the managing officer or persons in its employ and subject to his direction and control during all such regular business hours and devoted exclusively during such regular business hours to the business of the newspaper and business related thereto. (8) Said newspaper files a copy of each issue immediately with the State Historical Society. (7) Said newspaper has complied with all foregoing conditions for at least two years precedinj the day or dates of publication mentioned below.
