AND r.[DU9TT_11L , cu i us: ION THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 111 is amended to read as follows : Section 3. The Commission shall consist of Eleven (11) members to i be appointed by the Mayor by and with the advise and consent of the Council. Members of the Commission shall be appointed with due regard to their fitness for the efficient dispatch of the functions , powers and duties vested in and imposed upon the Commission. Two (2) of the members of the. Commission shall be young people of high � school age and shall be appointed for a term of One (1) year each. The remaining members of the Commission shall be appointed for terms of Three (3) years, except that any person appointed to fill a vacancy occurring prior to the expiration of the term for which his predecessor was appointed shall be appointed only for the remainder of such term. Upon the expiration of his term of office a member shall continue to serve until his successor is appointed and shall havequalified. The first Commission shall consist of Two (2) young people of high school age, appointed for a term of One (1) year; three (3) members appointed for a term of Three (3) years ; Three (3) members appointed for a term of Two (2) years and, Three (3) members appointed for a term of One (1) year. The members of the Commission shall serve without compensation and may be remcxed from office for cause by the Mayor. The term of the Two (2) young people of high school age shall commence on May lst of each year . The terms of the adult members shall commence on January ist of each year, or as soon thereafter as a successor shall be appointed and has qualified. Section 2. Section 1, Subdlds ion 1, of ordinance No. 112 is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1, Subdivision 1. There is hereby created a Recreation and Park Commission for the Village of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, consistincl of Eleven (11) members to be appointed as follows : One (1) member from the Board of Education of independent School District No. 272 to be appointed by the Board for a term of Three (3) years ; one (1) member from the Village Council to be appointed by the Council for a term of Three (3) years ; Seven (7) members at large, Three (3) for terms of Three (3) years ; Two (2) for terms of Two (2) years ; and, E Four (4) for terms of one (1) year. At least one of the appointments shall be a woman and one shall be a member of the Eden Prairie Athletic Association, and Two (2) of the one-year appointments shall be young people of high school age. Subsequent appointments shall be made for Three (3) year terms except those appointments of young people which shall be for one (1) year, or until their successors are appointed. All appointments are to be made by the Mayor with 2 YR 3 r ( the approval of the Village Council. The term of the Two (2) young s people of high school age shall commence on May lst of each year. The terms of the adult members shall commence on January 1st of each year, or as soon as a successor shall be appointed and qualifies . Section 3 . Section 1 of ordinance No. 30 is hereby amended to i read as fcM-ows : Section 1 Appointment and Organization. A Zoning and Planning Commission is hereby established and vested with such administrative authority as is herein provided. The Commission shall consist of Six (6) citizen freeholders who have been residents in the Village i of Eden Prairie for at least Three (3) years ,- one (1) member of f e i the Council and Two (2) young people of high school age. The Council member is to be selected by the Council for such term as the Council may determine. The young people of high school age ' i shall be appointed for terms of One (1) year each. The Six (6) members shall be appointed for a term of Three (3) years each. The 4 term of the two (2) young people of high scool age shall commence on May 1st of each year. The terms of the adult members shall commence on January lst of each year, or as soon thereafter as a successor shall be appointed and qualifies. All members are to be appointed by the Village Council. The Commission shall serve without compensation other than such compensation as its members f may receive for other services performed for the Village. 1 The citizens who are members of the Commission on the effective date of this amendment shall continue to be and act as members 3 - of the Commission until the expiration of the terms for which they were originally appointed. Any citizen member may be removed by a Two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Village Council. The secretary of the Council shall act as a secretary of the Commission and the Village Attorney shall act as legal counsel for the Commission. i Section 4. Section 4 of Ordinance No. 79 is amended to i read as follows : Section 4. Composition. The Commission shall consist of Twelve (12) members appointed by the Council, Two (2) of whom shall be young people of high school age. Section 5. Section 5 of Ordinance No. 79 is amended to t read as follows : Section 5. Terms of office. in the year 1966, Five (5) members shall be appointed whose terms shall expire December 31, 1966, i and Five (5) members whose terms shall expire December 31, 1967 . Thereafter. appointments shall be for a term of Two (2) years except when the appointment is to fill the unexpired portion of a term; except the Two (2) young people of high school age whose terms shall run for a period of one (1) year and shall commence on May 1st of each year.
