HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 130 - Establishing a Fire Department; Amending Ordinance No. 105 & 129 - 02/25/1969 VILLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE HENNEPIN COUNTY, MIlMSOTA ORDINANCE NO. 130 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A FZME DEPARTI.NT AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 97 AS AMENpED BY ORDINANCES NO. 105 AND 129. THE VILLAGE COUNCILCF THE VILLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 97 as amended by Ordinances No. 105 and 129 is to be amended by deleting the same and inserting the folloTa- ing: i g Section 2. Appointments. Employee Rights. The Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department and the Assistant Chief and the Fire Marshall shall be appointed by the Village Manager. These appointments shall be made from among the members of the Department until and wnless men holding these positions become full time Village employees. Before making these appointments, the Village Manager shall confer with the men of the Department or their selected representatives and shall secure and consider their voted recommendations and/or advice regarding the appointments to be made. Volunteer firemen and probationary firemen may appointed and removed by the members of the Department, subject to confirmation ' by the Village Manager. In all areas of hiring, promotion, discipline, grievances, suspension or dismissal, members of the Fire Department shall be entitled to and subject to all the rights and responsibilities provided for all employees of the Village by the Village Personnel Ordinance.
