HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 116 - Regulating Building Size and Location on Lots - 05/28/1968 VILLAGE OF EDE N PRA 1 R I E 14ENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA ORDINANCE NO. 116 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE LOCATION, SIZE, USE AND ARRANGEMENT OF BUILDINGS ON LOTS IN THE VILLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTING THE PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, ORDER, CONVENIENCE, PROSPERITY AND GENERAL WELFARE OF THE SAID VILLAGE AND FOR THE AFORESAID PURPOSE TO DIVIDE THE VILLAGE INTO DISTRICTS. The Council of the Village of Eden Prairie hereby ordains as fol 1 ows: Section 1 . Pending the adoption of a revised comprehensive s zoning ordinance pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 1965, Section 462.351 - et, seq., for the purpose of regulating the location, size, use and height of buildings, arrangement of buildings on lots and the density i of population in the village, and to provide separate districts for the purpose of carrying out the aforesaid regulations, no person, firm or corporation shall construct, move or extend the outside dimensions of any building upon any land in the village without having received a permit with W5ths approval of the Village Council . Section 2. Pending the adoption of the aforesaid ordinance no permit shall be issued for the construction, moving or extension of the outside dimensions of any building on any land within the limits of this municipality for other than residential purposes, schools and other public buildings, except on land lying and situated within theifal lowing boundar i es, to-w i t: Platted properties located within any present R-1 , S- I , R-A District. �' l Section j. Any person or persons violating the provision of this ordinance by neglecting or refusing to secure a permit, or who proceeds upon the ref usa I of a perm it by the V i I I age Counc; I sha I I be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not to exceed One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars or by imprison- ment for not to exceed ninety (90) days. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and force from and after its passage and publication and shall remain in force until the comprehensive ordinance contemplated hereunder becomes effective i or for a period not to exceed 6 months from this date.
