HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 68 - Regulating the Use of Highways - 01/11/1966 ORDINANCE NO . 68 ART ORDINANCE 11'EGLTLkTING THE USE 01' HIGHWAYS IVITHIN THE VIhLAGE OF EDEN PRAIRIE, INCOIIPOIL TING y PROVISIONS OF THE STATE HIGH}'TAY M)GULLMON ACT BY REFERENCE, AND IMPOSING A M%ILLTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF The Council of the Village of Eden Prairie does ordain as follows: SECTION I. HIGMVAY TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT INCORPORATED BY REFENENCE. There is hereby adopted as a traffic ordinance regulating the use of highways , streets , and alleys within the Village of Eden Prairie, the following statutes of the State of Minnesota., as heretofore amended and now in force and effect, three copies of which are marked as official copies and filed for use and examination by the public in the office of the Village Cleric. All of Chapter 169 of Minnesota Revised Statutes, known as the "HIGH1tiAY r TRAFFIC MMLT1, TIQN ACT", except the following sections thereof: 169.06, Sub— divisions 1 , 2 and 3; 1.69.09, Subdivision 9; 169.10; 169.I1 ; 16q.66; 169.77; 169.78; 16q.83, Subdivision 6, 169.87; 169.965; 16q.966. SECTION TT . TOWING. 11.ny police officer is hereby empowered to cause to be removed and towed away and to be stored, any unattended vehicle standing or harked in violation of the terms of this Ordinance or other lawful authority. Where such vehicle is towed away and stored, such vehicle will not be returned to the owner thereof except upon satisfactory proof of ownership and upon payment of the reasonable coat, for towage and storage of such vehicle. SECTION III. PENALTIES. Any violation of the statute adopted by reference .in Section I is a violation of this ordinance when it occurs within 1 . the Villa;re of Eden Prairie. Any persons thus violating; any provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a 1 j fine of not to exceed $100.00, or imprisonment in jail for a period not to exceed 90 days; but if a minimum fine or imprisonment is prescribed by the State Highway Traffic Act for any offense, such penalties shall apply to a Person convicted of the same offense under this ordinance.
