Section 1. UNIFOAki BUILDL*%(. CODE AND ST'.IND11_.DS OF INTEM'J;1,110,UL

which are on file in the office of the Village Clerk of the Village of laden
Prairie, beinz worked and designated as "Uniform Building Code , 1961 Edition,
Voltarne I" , and a certain document, three copies of which are on file in the
office of said Villaffe Clerk of said Villn:re of Eden Prairie beings marked and
desirruated as "Uniform Building Code Standarus 1961 Edition* Volume III", both y
copyri,*lited and published in 1961 by the International Co�aference of Buildings
Officials , be and the same are hereby ado ten as the Wilding Code of the
Villn.7e of rden Prairie for regul<atin;r the erection, construction, enlargement,
. ' '" alteration, repair, moving, removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy,

chain*red and altered as follows :

Permit Ye-es" in said Sec. 503, are hereby deleteett and in lieu thereof said first

B. The first paragraph of Sec. 2202 of said "Uniform Building
Code 1961 Edition, Volume 1" is hereby totally deleted and in lieu or in
place thereof the following is hereby enacted and inserted:
Type V buildings shall have all exterior walls covered with
solid sheathing as specified in this section.
All other paragraphs and sentences in said Sec. 2202 shall remain
unchan-red

C. In Sec. 2305 of said "Uniform Building Code 1961 Edition, t
Vollm.'e I" , the table in said section .lehled "Table No . 23 B-Roof Live Loads,
sound ner Square Foot" is hereby altered and chan,�-ed as follows:
Change 20 to 40;
Change 16 to 30; and
Chance 12 to 20,
The second and third vertical columns shall be disregarded and
elir_ninatect.

Section 3. ORDINANCES RLPF.AI�D. - That Ordinance No. 7 entitled
"An Ordinance Providing for Fire Limits, and Regulations Governing the
Construction, Alteration, Equipment oz- Removal of Buildings or Structures and
Repealing Certain Ordinances" and all other ordinances or harts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. FIRE ZONES - That the entire incorporated area of the
Village of Eden Prairie is hereby declared to be and is hereby established as
.•_' a fire district And the said Fire District shall be known and designated as
Fire Zone 3, the application of the regulations included in said "Uniform
Building Code 1961 Edition, Volume I" and in said "Uniform Building Code
Standards 1961 Edition, Volume III" both published and copyrighted in 1961
by International Conference of Building Officials.
Section 5. PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION - Any person, firm or cor-
poration who shall violate any provision of said code or of said code standards
or of any regulation properly issued and made thereunder or who shall fail to
comply therewith or who shall violate or fail to comply with any order or
regulation made thereunder or who shall build in violation of a detailed
statement, specification, or plan submitted and approved thereunder, or of a
permit issued thereunder, shall severally for each and every such violation
and non-complaint, be guilty of a misdemeanor. The imposing of a penalty for
a violation of said code standards or any regulation shall not excuse the vio-
lation or permit it to continue; such violation shall be remedied within a
reasonable time, and each ten (10) days that such violation is permitted to t
exist shall constitute a separate offense. The application of the above
penalties shall not be held to prevent the enforced removal of prohibited
conditions.

Section 6. TITLE - This ordinance, including all of the parts
thereof hereby adopted by reference is hereby entitled and shall be cited as >
"The Village of Eden Prairie Building Code."
ADOPTED by the Council of the Village of Eden Prairie this IIth
day of Febraam-X 1964.
