0L, A joint meeting was held in room 308 in the Eden Prairie High School
of the Village Council and the Zoning & Planning Commission on May 19, 1964
at 8 o'clock p. m.

ORDER OF BUSINESS:
MINUTES
The minutes of May 12th and 13th meetings were approved as written with
the following correction in the May 12th minutes:
Pearson Property
The motion was carried with 3 ayes and 1 nay by Al Bruce.
.,� PARK & RECREATION BOARD
Mayor Rogers presented the following appointees to the Park & Recreation
Board for Council approval:
t"# Russell Marsh representing the School Board for a term of 3 years.
Albert Bruce representing the Council for a term of 3 years.

'~ The School Board and Council representative membership on the Park and
"= Recreation Board are contipgent upon their membership on the Boards they

�-= Mrs. Fran Blacklock for a term of 1 year expiring on January 1, 1965
Mr. Donald Nygaard for a term of 2 years expiring on January 1, 1966
e,7) Mr. Howard Merriman for a term of 3 years expiring on January 1, 1967.

A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to approve
the Mayor's appointments to the Park & Recreation Board.
Motion carried.
STERLING FIELD
A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Albert Bruce to authorize
the Clerk to send a letter to Mr. William Pearson granting him permission to
perform any necessary grading on the Sterling Field Athletic area.
Motion carried.

MILLER FIELD BALL PARK
A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Al Bruce to instruct
the road crew to grade the Miller Field Ball Park.
Motion carried.
KEITH JAMES
Mr. James appeared before the Council requesting reduction of bond and per-
mission to open a new area for gravel pit operation. Mr. James advised to have
the Village Engineer and Attorney prepare a new contract specifically covering
this area and the Village Engineer is to set the amount of the bond.
BEIN-HOLASEK-BELDEN
A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Al Bruce to continue this
hearing until May 274. 1964.
Motion carried.
ZONING
Discussion was held on setting up a restrictive zoning for a specialized
Industrial Park, freeway type area. Many ideals were brought out and Attorney
Perbix is to redraft the present M-1 zoning to fit this. As soon as the draft
is ready he is to send copies to Chairman Miller so the Zoning & Planning Commission
can review prior to the May 27th Council Meeting.
M.A.C. LAND FOR YOUTH BASEBALL.
A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to authorize
the Mayor and Clerk to sign the contract with M.A.C. for land on Flying Cloud
Airport for youth baseball diamonds subject to Clerk checking paragraph 6 with
M.A.C.
Motion carried.
VILLAGE HALL
2fr. W. Harlan Perbix informed the Council the deed for the Village Hall site
has now been recorded.
A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to award
the bid for the Village Hall to C. W. Borresen for $52,319.00 subject to approval
of contract by Attorney Perbix and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign the
approved contract.
Motion carried.
• CURTIS CONNAUGHTY
The Clerk is instructed to send a bill to Curt Connaughty for 30 feet of
culvert at $2.09 per foot.

PZCHA ROAD - NO DUMPING SIGNS
A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to instruct
the road crew to place no dumping signs on Picha Road.
Motion carried.
BOARD OF REVIEW
A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to set
July 8, 1964 at 8 o'clock p. m. for the Annual Board of Review (assessment
equalization hearing).
Motion carried.
