HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 90-218 - Establishing proposed 1991 property tax levy and setting dates for public hearing on proposed 1991 budget and tax levy - 08/21/1990 CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 90-218 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE PROPOSED 1991 PROPERTY TAX LEVY AND SETTING DATES FOR THE PUBLIC HEARINGS ON THE PROPOSED 1991 PROPERTY TAX LEVY AND BUDGET WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 272.065 specifies the procedure for local units of government to establish their property tax levies and adopt their budgets; and WHEREAS, the Eden Prairie City Council has studied its needs for services to deliver and debt obligations to meet in 1991; and WHEREAS, the City Council has authority to levy $12,957,000 in taxes against properties in Eden Prairie for general operations and other financial obligations; NOW BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Eden Prairie that it approves the proposed 1991 budget of $15,132,000 and that the proposed 1991 property tax levy be $12,703,000, an amount 7.1 percent greater than the levy for 1990, an amount which may not be exceeded when the Council adopts is its final budget for 1991; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council set November 27, 1990 as the date for its Truth-in-Taxation public hearing and December 11, 1990 as the date to reconvene the hearing, if necessary.
