HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2000-207 - Certifying the 2000 Tax Levy, Collectible in 2001, and Adopting the 2001 General Fund Budget - 12/19/2000 CITY OF EDEN PRAIRIE HENNEPIN COUNTY, NIINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 2000-207 A RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THE 2000 TAX LEVY, COLLECTIBLE IN 2001, AND ADOPTING THE 2001 GENERAL FUND BUDGET WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the budget recommended by the City Manager, listened to public comment, and discussed the proposals and tax levy for the 2001 General Fund Budget, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Eden Prairie, County of Hennepin, Minnesota, that the following sums of money be levied upon the taxable property in said City the following purposes: Taxes to be levied against tax capacity General Fund $19,606,824 Equipment Revolving Fund 580,000 Bonds and Interest 1998 Equipment Certificates 163,500 1995 Improvement Refunding Bonds 500,000 1995 Building Refunding Bond 206,000 1997A Improvement Refunding Bonds 749,000 2000A Public Facility Bonds 325,000 $22,130,324 Less HACA 690,295 Net tax capacity levy for certification $21,440,029 Less Fiscal Disparities distribution 954,746 Net tax collectible in 2001 $20,485,283 Taxes to be levied against market value 1992 & 1993 Park Bonds $ 446,000 1994 Open Space Bonds 168,000 Market value tax levy for certification $ 614,000 Total net tax collectible in 2001 $21,099,283 Funds have been provided for principal and interest payments on all bond issues except as shown above, and no other levies are required (as shown in Exhibit 1). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council declare its compliance with the "Truth-in- Taxation" requirements, having published a notice of Proposed Property Tax and Budget Hearing in the Eden Prairie News on November 30, 2000 and conducting the hearing on December 4, 2000. BE IT YET FURTHER RESOLVED that, with the conclusion of the Proposed Property Tax and Budget Hearing process, the City Council approves the 2000 Budget for the General Fund and Debt Service Obligations totaling $28,905,873.
