The people from Research and M.T.S. presented architectural sketches of the
proposed building and a rough site sketch showing the area that they were
purchasing and the approximate relationship of the building that they would
be erecting at this time, with the area they were purchasing. They stated
that the initial building would be approximately 40,000,00 square feet and
that this would be the first stage of a planned three stage construction in
equal thirds.
Motion was made by Bren, seconded by Brown to adopt Ordinance 78 on the
Warden - Anderson property re-zoning; from RA to SI.
ITEM 6-D-66 BLACK AND KRAL
Mr. Kral, Mr. Black, and Mr. Morehouse appeared before the Council requesting
permission to put in a 30 foot road in the property they are developing ad-
jacent to the Justus-Eden Prairie Industrial Park. There was much discussion
on the various road widths and a 30 foot road was basically felt not sufficient
to be a 4 lane thoroughfare and yet it was far in excess of what was needed
.for anormal 2 lane road. They explained that at some later date if it was
necessary to widen the road, they could go in and dig down and place the
necessary base in and extend the mat. This was felt not to be good basic
engineering and from past experience 2 and 3 foot or even 4 foot addition3 to
a road way generally did not hold up properly and required a considerable
amount of maintenance. It was generally felt that if a sufficient base was
put in, the mat then could be extended over the base at some future date where
as if the base was not port in at this time we would have difficulties in the
future.
A motion was made by Bren, seconded by Anderson that they put in abase for a
36 foot road , gutter to gutter, and be allowed to put in a 26 foot mat at this
time for the Kral 6 Black Industrial Park on the Schutrop property in Eden
Prairie Industrial Park of Andrew. Justus.
The motion carried.
