The Council met in the Village Hall on December 9, 1964 at 8 o'clock p. m.
Present were:
Donald A. Rogers, Mayor Rolf E. Haugen, Treasurer
Kenneth E. Anderson, Trustee Edna M. Holmgren, Bookkeeper
Albert L. Bruce, Trustee W. Harlan Perbix, Attorney
Alvin J. Bren, Trustee Archie Carter, Engineer
James C. Brown, Clerk James Hawkes, Planner
ORDER OF BUSINESS:
MINUTES
A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to accept
the minutes of November 24th and 28th as written with the following correction:
Insurance - Village Hall November 24th)
Motion carried with 4 ayes and 1 abstain by Kenneth Anderson.
Motion carried.
VOUCHERS
A motion was made by James Brown and seconded by Alvin Bren to approve
vouchers #1965 through#2010 for payment.
Motion carried.
NORTHERN STATES POWER - PERMIT
A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Albert Bruce that the
request for a permit for a transmission line be tabled at this time pending
further study of possible alternate routes discussed at the November 28th
Zoning & Planning Commission meeting. Further action on this is to be at
a date of no later than February 28, 1965. There were 3 ayes and 2 nayes.

MR. BILL BLOOMQUIST
A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Albert Bruce to
approve the request to mete and bound a one acre plus lot on the Uherka
property on Rowland Road for a one family residence.
Motion carried.
GLEN LAKE STATE BANK
Mr. F. J. McCarthy appeared with information about services that the
Glen Lake State Bank had to offer the Village.

TRACTOR, MOWER. SWEEPER_BID
A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Albert Bruce to
accept the low bid for a tractor, mower and sweeper from Tri-State Machinery
Co. $3,600 plus $115.25 for Ampli-Torc. There were 4 ayes with 1 abstain by
James Brown. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to return
all bid bonds or cashiers checks on truck and tractor except low bidders.
Motion carried.
APPOINTMENT - ASSESSOR
A motion was made by Albert Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to
appoint L. E. 'Whitmer, Assessor at $4,500 per year and 7¢ per mile car allowance
effective January 1, 1965.
Motion carried.
ELECTION CANVAS
A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Albert Bruce to
approve the results of the December 8th Village Election as follows :

CLAIM - ELMER MITCHELL ESTATE
A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Albert Bruce to
acknowledge receipt of the claim of the Elmer Mitchell Estate.
Motion carried.

ROAD CREW - PART-TIME HELP

A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to
authorize the Road Commissioner to draw upon the following for part-time
help:
Harry Rogers Steve Quam
James Irwin Daniel Totushek
Arthur Dressen Maynard Jergens
Motion carried.
HENNEPIN COUNTY LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES
RESOLUTION #89
A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Albert Bruce to adopt
Resolution #89 appointing Kenneth Anderson, representative from the Village
of Eden Prairie for one year beginning January 1, 1965 and Alvin Bren as an
alternate and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign.
Motion carried.

DELETION - ORDINANCE NO. 8

A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Albert Bruce to
instruct Attorney Perbix to draw up an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 8
deleting the following words in Section 5, Subdivision C:
"Or along a permanent unobstructed easement of access to the lot from
W a public street as approved by the zoning administrator as adequate for the
0 purpose."

FINAL PLAT - THE COVE
TH OMS ON & S CROGGINS
A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to approve
the final plat of The Cove and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign subject to
escrow agreement approval by Attorney Perbix.

A check for $672-00 for inspection and processing fee was received.

COMMITTEE - SHOPPING CENTER P
A motion was made by Albert Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to
appoint a standing committee for the purpose of expediting a proposed shopping
center in Eden Prairie at the intersection of Highway 169, 5 and Interstate 494
with Alvin Bren as Chairman.
Motion carried.
