Present were: Donald A. Rogers, Mayor James C. Brown, Clerk Kenneth E. Anderson, Trustee Rolf E. Haugen, Treasurer Albert L. Bruce, Trustee Edna M. Holmgren, Bookkeeper Alvin J. Bren, Trustee W. Harlan Perbix, Attorney Archie Carter, Engineer ORDER OF BUSINESS: MINUTES 8 A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to accept the minutes of October 13th and 22nd as written. Motion carried. CURBING, GUTTER, SIDEWALK BIDS A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to re- ceive the following bids for curbing, gutter and sirewalk l'or the Villagti Hall an:_J rofer to Virgil Muller of Rieke-Carroll & Assoc. for tabulation: Hiawatha Cement Co, $ 2,570.00 Crown Sidewalk Co., Inc. 2,671.70 Victor Carlson & Sons, Inc. 3,091.00 Hanson Construction Co. 2, 390.00 Motion carried. PLEHAL BLACKTOPPING. INC. A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to pay Plehal Blacktopping, Inc. for the following projects: #85.36 $ 3.059.84 #85.32, 85.33, 85.34, & 85.35 4,825.30 7,885.14 Less for both bids -150.00 • $ 7,735.14 Motion carried. LOCH EDEN - (,THE COVE) A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to approve increased right-of-way width of entrance road and adjoining areas of lots 13, 14 and 15. Motion carried. k' y i s October 28, 1964 (Page 2) s, LOTS ON RESEARCH ROAD t 1 Discussion was held on special requirements for drive-ways on lots on Research Road. Mr. Orlan Narr has requested a building permit for a lot on this road, Engineer Carter will work on the requirements. s FIRE ARMS ORDINANCE A motion was made by Albert Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren that the x Council ask Attorney Perbix to prepare a fire arms ordinance in general to prohibit firing of weapons other than shot guns using pellets. Motion carried. LIQUOR QUESTION Discussion was held between the Council a Attorney Perbix on the liquor question. A petition by ten people could put/99 the ballot at the Village Election on December 8th. No action was taken at this time. GRAVEL PITS A motion was made by Alvin Bren and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to return. the $100.00 license fees held on the flood ich and Sewall pits with a letter stating that they have no permit to operate in Eden Prairie. Motion carried. VILLAGE RECORDS A motion was made by James Brown and seconded by Albert Bruce that all records, maps, contracts, deeds, etc. are to be filed with the Clerk as soon as the move is made to the new Village Hail. F Motion carried. MUNICIPAL COURT A letter was received from Roger F. Newstrom, Budget Examiner of Hennepin County and placed on file in regard to a Municipal Court in the Eden Prairie Village Hall. The suggested rate would be $25.00 per day for Court and $10.00 per day for Traffic Violations. The Clerk will check offers made in other corununities and report back to the Council. PLUMBING INSPECTOR A motion was made by Kenneth Anderson and seconded by Alvin Bren to appoint George R. Wells temporary Plumbing Inspector due to the injury of Robert Lansing. Motion carried. GUTTER, SIDEWALK BIDS A motion was made by Albert Bruce and seconded by Alvin Bren to accept the low bid of Hanson Contracting Co., Hutchinson, Minnesota for curb, gutter and sidewalk at the Village Hall site in the amount of $2,390.00 and return all other bids and deposits. Motion carried. LANDSCAPING BIDS A motion was made by Albert Bruce and seconded by Kenneth Anderson to reject all bids and return same to bidders on landscaping the grounds at the Village Hall site due to the lateness of the season. Notion carried. ROAD GRADER A motion was made by Albert Bruce and seconded by Alvin Brent struct the Road Commissioner to pick up the road grader from Fred Holasek O�sell same. to the highest bidder. ` Motion carried.
